That’s why I think LSU should schedule 1 marquee series a season. It would improve their sos. And with this record and a top 10 sos, a top 8 national seed would be a lock right now

Depending on what happens with FSU/UNC this weekend, along with Clemson in the ACCT you could end up with 2 teams in the top 8 that will have FAR worse resumes than 2-3 teams you leave out.

Number of teams from SEC, or any conference, shouldn’t matter if they are picking top 8 national seeds. If most are SEC then it is, what it is. You can’t penalize a team just because they already have “too many” teams from that conference. Just take top eight, period.

Nothing about our schedule is keeping us out. If you are a good team and take care of business, it all comes down to SEC play.

Good stuff.
But FSU doesn’t have 10 Q4 losses.
I suspect 0 for math to work for overall losses.

Can’t see the committee giving the SEC 6 super hosts even though it would be deserved. Will be 5 with 2 ACC schools and Oregon State. Have to have a west coast team. Oregon and UCLA are jokes.
Is there any evidence that they would do this from prior years? It's seems that rewarding a top 8 seed due to geography rather than merit is pure corruption.
That's for the West coast teams to figure out the logistics of traveling across the country

Correct, it's 0. Fat fingered a 1 before it. Thanks for catching.

Big Ben said as much.. the LSU-ARK series winner in his view

I think the SEC gets 4 seeds
The ACC gets (at least) 2
A West coast team (Oregon St, UCLA, etc) will get 1 or 2
IMO, Texas and Arkansas are locked in from the SEC
LSU is on the brink of being a lock. A win yesterday probably would have locked LSU (because of the opponent). Looking ahead to this week 1 win would probably lock LSU in (~70% chance). 2 wins put the likelihood at 90+%. 3 wins locks it completely.
Then you have the group of Georgia, Auburn, Vandy, Tennessee, Alabama that are all right behind LSU trying to grab the final 1 or 2 top 8 seeds.
LSU doesn't have to sweep this weekend....but they can't pull an A&M and get swept by a really bad team.

The most was 5 teams. Happened last year. And the sec is way stronger than last year.

Incredible that Georgia has lost more SEC games than they have overall.

If that's the case you think the committee is going to leave out 2 of the top 3 teams in RPI?

Do you think Missouri finally winning a series has any effect on how the committee views SEC standings? Previously they could argue the teams that played Mizzou (LSU, Texas, Arkansas, and UGA) got 3 free SEC wins and you could argue that a team with a better RPI that didn't play Mizzou (Auburn or Vandy) should get in before a team above them with more SEC wins

I just see someone starting a post debating on top 8 seed like it’s not a lock. So I assume only thing that keeping lsu from being a lock right now was the sos.

LSU sweeps SC this weekend they’ll be the #1 overall seed.

That’s all we can control!
I think 2 gets us a top 8 seed, and a sweep virtually ensures it.
You way off.
1 gets us a Top 8 seed
2 gets us a Top 4
a sweep might get you a Top 2
Hell if we get swept i think we get a Top 8

It’s not the lack of top end opponents that’s hurting LSU’s RPI. It’s the weakness of the W/L record of a couple of the non-conference opponents early and especially the midweek opponents. Auburn, Georgia, and Vandy all have teams with better records in close proximity for midweek games making the difference in RPI and putting pressure on LSU for the Top 8.
