Maybe he just said that to say it, but it was interesting.

He said something along the lines that he was impressed with the progression that Daniels has made each and every week, and can’t wait to see how he plays next year under Coach Kelly.

If Daniels returns I believe we have a shot a NC. Likely will be ranked preseason top 5-10.

Why wouldn’t Daniels come back? He’s no where near a NFL QB

I wish Nuss the best, but he will not play here if Daniels comes back.

I don’t see him beating out Howard either.
Howard will be a monster once the staff puts their full effort into him.

I kind of expected him to return. Not sure this is a surprise.

no one has suggested that he goes to the NFL, but rumor was he came here with the intention of being one and done.

He’s a better prospect at this point than Kellen Mond, who was drafted in the 3rd round. JD should stay, but some kids just want to get to the NFL.

Well where would he go after one year if that was his intention? CFL, retire?

How is this leaking information?

Kind of just sounds like he expects him to return like most others do and is saying that he is looking forward to it.

...or could just be assuming that he's coming back.

According to some podcast I was listening to, they said Daniels already said it weeks ago.

I highly doubt even Daniels knows what he's doing yet

Too early to believe, or even worry about. If Daniels continues to improve every week and we keep winning, he will have a grade that makes it a dumb move to stay. He's a top 10 Heisman guy now. Who knows where his draft stock ends up. I'm sure his stock today makes him want to stay. But that could change every week.

Saying I won't leave my job doesn't mean I won't go against that with the right situation/offer.

Let's not forget what Daniels came here to do: help himself and help LSU in the process. If he helps himself and LSU enough this year, he's gone.

Enjoy the ride.

ETA: He's been a great representative of LSU, through thick and thin, no matter how long he's been here or stays. .

I don’t disagree. But at some point, you are who you are.

Even with a great college season next year, Daniels will be the same player.

He’s started for 4 seasons.

Having the offense dialed in at the beginning of the next season will be huge. We really put it together the last three games. We still need to develop the downfield passing part of the offense because we are going to need that at some point.
