Well I think you have to save 2 of the 3 of McCune, Bonvillain, and Newman for Sunday and potentially Monday.

Why is everyone so concerned with Sunday? If you go 2-0, the home team with the most pitching depth is winning the regional. It doesn't matter who throws Sunday.

Where is LSU's pitching depth right now if they are looking at starting a freshman Sunday who didn't even figure into the rotation until the last week of the regular season?

We played 5 games in the SEC tourney and won 4 of them. I think PM knows his team. But by all means y'all keep calling him retarded.

So pitching our second best pitcher on the roster against a 4th seed Jackson St is smart to you?

Well, frick!! I think we are okay for regionals without him. Nola and Eades are a great 1 and 2, and Newman looked great in SEC tourney (given his limited pitching prior of course). Plus, many of our bull pen guys would be in the weekend rotation for JSU, Sam Houston State, and ULL. I will be concerned, however, if we make it to Super Regional play without him and especially Omaha where pitching depth is so important. Needless to say, everyone is going to be on pins and needles next week if we get to the Super Regional.

Even without Glenn LSU has way more pitching depth than these other 3 teams.

I'm not worried about the regional. The real worry is beyo d the regional. And we won't win it all without Glenn.

frick it..i might not even go to the regional

Not surprising... this is what makes a lot of people dislike LSU fans. No faith, not willing to stick it out in hard times, only there when everything's going right.

You're a douchebag if you bail on your team because someone got suspended.

In a statement released late Thursday night, Mainieri said "Cody will not be on the active roster for the regional this weekend. Should we advance to the next round of the NCAA Tournament, Cody's status will be evaluated next week and a determination will be made concerning his return to the active roster."

On the eve of LSU's first NCAA Tournament game, Coach Paul Mainieri pulled a unwanted stunner. Sophomore pitcher Cody Glenn will not be on the active roster after he violated an undisclosed team rule.

In a statement released late Thursday night, Mainieri said "Cody will not be on the active roster for the regional this weekend," Mainieri said. "Should we advance to the next round of the NCAA Tournament, Cody's status will be evaluated next week and a determination will be made concerning his return to the active roster."

The left-handed Texan has been a huge key to the Tigers this season with a 7-2 record and a 2.41 ERA. He has been especially effective lately with five strong starts in a row.

Freshman Hunter Newman moves into Glenn's spot in the roster and would ostensibly be a prime candidate to start the third game. Newman logged two solid starts in LSU's final two mid-week games and then held Arkansas to no hit in 4 innings last Saturday in the SEC Tournament semifinals.

way more is a bit of an exaggeration. Maybe if we still had Reynolds and Broussard then yes .

Did you watch the tourney? Pitching is the least of our worries. Lock down the first 2 games and we have a staff that will cruise through game 3. No worries.
