Wrong. Jackson St is the worst team in the entire tournament. CPM could pitch and we'll beat them. Tulane is ranked 3x's higher than them. It would be such a waste pitching Eades.
Even with Glen in the mix, I was hoping we'd throw Newman on Friday.

You're probably right but why risk it when you know that your overall team depth pretty much guarantees you a regional win after being 2-0? Its not "wasting" Eades.

Exactly. Once we're 2-0 it's over. Our remaining pitching is significantly better than anyone's. LSU bats mash game 3 and when it's all over Alan Dunn has gotten another 6 hit 2 run game out of 5 pitchers.

So, you think the pitching matchup against a poor Jackson St. team is important, but the pitching matchup against a clearly superior team (presumably ULL) is not important.
That makes sense.

What are you talking about? Who would ULL have for the 3 game that's better than Newman and our bullpen? Even more so how about game 4? You gotta ensure you are 2-0 and establish your depth vs the other teams depth. Which LSUs depth is 3x better

No, what I'm saying is the pitching matchup on Sunday isn't really important at all as long as we win the first 2. Advantage LSU Sunday against a team with a lot more pitching concerns than us at that point (regardless of who we're throwing at that point)
That said, we'll be fine either way IMO. But I'd go with eades Game1. If we go with Newman, fine, that has its positives as well.
