I know you cant compare a honda to a ferrari, but lets just be a little optimistic here. Coach O, in his first full season as head coach for the Tigers, went 9-3 with a home loss to Troy. Nick Saban in his first season as head coach for the Tigers went 8-4 with a home loss to UAB. Then, in the following season, LSU went on to win the National Championship. Obviously doesn't mean much, but still something to think about.

Edit: My post was successful in proving how cancer this community is.

Saban didn’t win the national championship following his first season at LSU.

He’s not even comparing them correctly. Not that they should be compared at all.

Won SEC championship against UT with backup Mauck in Saban's 2nd year. Won national championship in his 4th year.

Even though your comparisons are wrong, O had all the talent and resources in the world when he came in as HC. Saban came in with nothing and completely rebuilt the program.

1999: 3-8, unranked.
2016: 8-4, top 15.

But you'll probably ignore that like every other moron who tries this.

Me thinks your timeline is off a bit, 1st year and NC yeat are a few years from each other.
