All subjective

End of the year rankings are all subjective outside 1-2

So now we can’t even compare LSU teams to LSU teams?

Was competition the exact same?

I’m not ripping anyone I’m simply stating our records. You guys are using subjective criteria and false statements.

You understand the AP poll and the Coaches poll is just a POLL of opinions.

That’s not like a mathematical formula

It’s all outside perceptions.

Is this year a better team? For sure

Is 11 spots better? Probably not.

It never is so you’re saying no team can ever be compared to another? And btw the 2015 schedule was more difficult than any 0 has faced.

What subjective criteria?

Did LSU Lose three straight in 2015 by 14 points or more?
Did the passing game finish ranked 108th?
Did we not play South Carolina that year instead of Georgia?
Did we not average 16 points a game over an entire month?

There you go revert to insults and name calling. Make sure to keep it classy and civil.

And the record still stayed the same even while facing a much tougher schedule. We are talking results not stats, if you wanna do that we can go there as well.

I don't think he is, but if he is, you two should have a lot in common.

We were in every game.

You know that's a blatant lie.

QB, WR, OL, DL, LB

I'll agree with you on QB, but Orgeron hasn't done any better at recruiting top end talent at that position.

When Miles was fired, here was our roster at each of those positions:

WR:

Sullivan
Dee Anderson
Dupre
Drake Davis
DJ Chark
Dural
Jazz Ferguson
Derrick Dillon
Russell Gage

That's more talent than all but a couple of SEC schools at WR.

OL:
Savage
Okeke
Campbell
Willie Allen
Cushenberry
Weathersby
Brunfield
Teuhema
Magee
Boutte
Malone

Again, top third of the SEC in terms of talent there.

DL:
Key
Logan
Godchaux
Lawrence
Alexander
Herron
Gilmore
Clark
Bower
Valentine

Admittedly, we only really had two great DL on the roster, which is curious given that Ed Orgeron was the DL coach and responsible for recruiting the DL.

LB:
Riley
Beckwith
Divinity
Thorton
White
Alexander

What year?

Miles was damn near fired in 2015. That's how shitty November was that year

How do you figure we arnt doing better in SEC play than what we hsd been doing in recent years? We had gone 11-9 in Miles last 2 plus years (2014-15 and start of 16) plus had gone 4-5 overall in our Miles last 9 games. At least we are back to a respectable 11-5 in SEC play in Orgerons 2 years in SEC play and 19-7 overall and back in the top 10.

Couple of years missing there. I get 2016 was interim but if you just randomly go from 15 to 18 it doesn’t really show a trend- just one nice finish.

I do think there are signs that O is improving the program. I think it will ultimately come down to offensive upgrades if O is here long term. He did himself no favors with the Canada debacle followed up by making E coordinator. The Burrow transfer and recent offensive hire could be key factors in moving the offense forward. This years numbers on that side of the ball weren’t great. Next year will be huge. Everyone knows that. I hope he pulls it off for the good of the program.

college football is based on opinions & subjectivity.

quote:

Me: LSU's 10-3 is better than Boise St's 10-3.

You: No it's not, 10-3 = 10-3.

quote:

Me: Alabama carries more weight than beating Miss St.

You: No it doesn't, a win is a win.

quote:

Me: losing to A&M on the road in 7 OTs is different than losing to ARK 14-31 in Tiger Stadium.

You: No it's not, a loss is a loss!

You're not wrong, factually. But you are most certainly wrong with it comes to college football.

2014 we played the 7th toughest schedule in college football. Our losses were to a 10-3 Mississippi State team, Auburn on the road, Alabama, Arkansas, and Notre Dame in the bowl game. We also beat 11-3 Wisconsin and a hot Ole Miss team.

MS leading 34-10 in 4th qtr at Tiger stadium...ended 14 game winning streak
Auburn beat us 41-7...went 4-4 in sec and 8-5 overall
Arkansas won 17-0...2-6 sec 7-6 overall

Real impressive
