I think it has something to do with the backlash on here to the Orgeron hire to begin with. I will never be able to understand the need some people on here have for making the smallest things into hating Orgeron. I don't recall that at all during Les's time, but my memory isn't very good these days. Just in this thread not agreeing that Orgeron is a genius triggered a couple of people. It's all or nothing sometimes.

So it seems like all they needed was a passing QB.

Sorry this was more QB dependent than needed a full season to implement an offense.

I also didn't notice their "transitional" offense looking ANYTHING like ours.

Youre jsut wrong. You don't have to look liek shite for a season to teach your team a new offense

the whole point of these offense is that they are streamlined conceptually and EASIER to learn and play fast.

No, I don't know that. I've never seen any indication that was the case. In fact, all I've seen was that Orgeron desperately wanted E to take the job when he was first hired and could not get it done. I can actually quote that... this notion that Ensminger was simply an interim guy for the 2018 season while we went and found a better OC is a new take I'm hearing for the first time from you. I'm open to reading any source material you have for this, though. Maybe I somehow missed it.

The perspective as I recall was always about how Ensminger didn't really want the job.

That's all? That's it?

Not complete changes to OL blocking assignments? Complete changes to WR/RB routes and blocking/decoy assignments?

No new playbook with scores of plays to learn... then perfect?

No new nomenclature throughout?

Just switch the QB and let 'er rip? Nice

Ahhh...sure, but I think that's a different issue. Though if that's what you were getting at, I understand what you mean.

I've never gotten the impression Orgeron thought of his that way though.

Someone needs to call Harbaugh and tell him to switch the QB and all will be well with his struggling new Spread/RPO offense.

He is smart enough to make the right hiring decisions and pursuing the perfect combo of QB and Passing coordinator. That is near genius if not genius. Glad that you did not have to wait so long

And if you would go back through the thread I gave him credit for all of that and I have been giving him credit for that all along. You just have to have a reason to freak out and try to make everything out to be about hating Coach O when it isn't.

Burrow was a complete unknown. Yes, it worked out but don’t pretend that it was a slam dunk, talent based decision. Also, Burrow was looking to transfer. It’s not like O went up to OSU and stole him away.

Give credit to O for being able to reel him in but don’t pretend that O spotted a diamond in the ruff and knew that Burrow had this type of ceiling.

I don't buy that Burrow was a complete unknown. He was not on our recruiting radar being in OH, but was a 4 star QB playing in a good football state in high school. Top-10 rated dual threat QB in the country. People knew he had talent. Definitely glad we got him.

Nah he just needs to stick with it another year apparently.

OR maybe the guy they hired to fix their offense can just hire another guy to fix the offense

Joe Brady was the genius move.
While this may be true, you still need a QB to run the system.

The transition was absolutely seamless

You're using them as an example of "oh they took two years to implement it" and they were really good both years

I am saying if they had a better passer in 2017 they would have run more RPO/Spread passing concepts in 2017. Instead they ran stuff that their 4th year starting QB was more comfortable whit, and was better at.

And if you want to talk about Michigan. Do you think they will be exponentially better next year?

It goes both ways. I've been downvoted even when being complimentary of CLM in the past.

People will downvote anything. I got a downvote for providing a gif that someone aksed for. Can't put too much stock in that. You're better than most posters on here anyways even if we don't always agree.

I'd bet you had some other stuff in your posts besides compliments. Or they were backhanded.

I try not to get abrasive with others and play nice but sometimes it's hard. You are one of the most even keeled posters on here. My point is I am labeled as a CLM hater and his supporters jump on me even if I say something good about him...and the same happens with the ones who didn't support O. I would rather move on form that and just discuss football...as level headed as possible

So what is your objective in all this rhetoric?

That we should all be pissed at E & O? Even though LSU was the #6 Team last season and looks much better this year? And at 6 games, has the highest scoring offense in the NCAA?

Dude. No one is buying that bullshite of yours. No one! Not even you!
