I don't think this coach is going to rely on a freshman for the first time in a high visibility spot like Texas

Very unlikely that Emery currently knows and can execute all the pass protection assignments. There's no doubt that he can run the ball, but if Emery were to miss a blitz pickup and Burrow got hurt, every single one of us would rightly be screaming at Orgeron's idiocy for playing him.

Look at the difference in clemson last year with Lawrence, Ross WR, and the other Freshman WR. they looked OK at A&M but completely dominated Bama at the end of year. it takes a good portion of the season for Freshmen to shine but once they click oh my

Ok, he says that but consistently gave Giles time over Chase and Marshall last season when everyone could see that they were much better.

With the stable of backs we have it’s going to be fun to watch the coaches mess with opponents by having multiple stud rb’s on the field at the same time

You couldn’t be more wrong.. he got better and better each week and rushed for almost 5 yards a carry (sec leaders at almost 6)with the worst Oline statistically n sec. TFL being the one that hurt our RB avg. He’s an elite route runner and has great hands and should have been utilized more n passing game. Led the team n missed tackles after the catch with only 20. He should have been targeted 40 or so imo. He’s a monster in space and will be out primary back for a while anyway. He’s a huge part of the offense this year. Be ready to watch Clyde pass 1k all purpose even w/ the talent n that Rb room.

FWIW Emerys highlight tape includes some awesome pass pro hits. Dude ain't afraid to lay the wood.

Blah blah blah about Fournette taking time until the Fla game. Did we forget he was trying to run into a wall of defenders (Like 8-9 in the box). Heck God would not be able to get through all those defenders.

Why is it that other freshmen excel early in other offenses? Well, if we spread the field it will take Emory ONE Carry to open up people's eyes. It was the scheme with Miles, not Fournette taking time. He and all the RB were shocked they had to run through a whole defense

Coaches don't rave about true freshmen in fall camp.

It's all in the binder, lol. No seriously, I think Emery will be a beast.

The head coach at Texas doesn’t respect LSU, haven’t you heard?

CEH is better than the credit he got out of HS. IMHO he has ended even better than the coaches expected. Emery and Davis-Price will get theirs. But CEH will be a central part of this offense. Having said that and back to original point coach don't want to hype up a guy he knows will be a crucial weapon. Let Emery fly under radar and unleash at the right point of the season is the line of thinking. And yours truly for one approves:).

They rarely do. You’re looking at the outliers and calling them ordinary.

Faulk and Hodson both won SEC freshmen of the year.. Kev started his career as a freshman he was brought in the game against Houston losing 34-14 at the half.. in the second half Faulk rushed for 246 yards on 21 carries and added 106 on 4 punt returns.. this freshman led LSU TO a 35-34 victory.. so don’t feed me no bullshite that freshman can’t have instant impact ?!
