Coach O - Presser Highlights

Things I was happy to hear:
1) I don’t care if we have to play one defense, we’re not going to run anything the guys are not completely comfortable running.
2) We are going to look at personnel. We need to have our best personnel out there for the appropriate calls on offense (probably implicating Tory Carter lined up wide). On defense, we need to make sure guys are in position to play to their strengths (probably implicating Jacoby). Also mentioned getting more creative with the run and mentioned Emery without a prompt.
3) On 3rd downs:
Getting behind the chains on first down, said we have to run the ball better. Then said have to work on schemes and execution. Practice today will be all 3rd down and red zone. Myles getting Monday off just a little bruised up.
***
Things that made me want to light myself on fire:
1) In response to a question about “much better than we looked at any point last year”:
I told y’all the truth... I saw guys getting pressure, flying around to the ball, hitting run gaps... And I did not think we played great defense last year.
2) Derek Stingley: Sprained ankle. Did not elaborate as to whether he would be out + nobody asked either.

Couple of things that stood out to me:
- MB out of practice today healing up from game
- may look to put bigger dlinemen on the field on run downs
- mentioned looking at different personnel multiple times so I expect to see new faces or less of some faces we've seen so far

Why did it take 3 games, 2 losses, and an average of 600 yards to figure this out? It’s alarming that the staff didn’t decide this 15 minutes into Mississippi State

Wow coach O is painting himself as an a**. Arnada carried this team for 2 years prior to 2019. Salvaged a season that your hire canada would have ruined and you say crap like this. Coach O is starting to look like a real jerk.

I don’t believe he said Stingley was out. He sprained his ankle on the play where he fell on the chains, then came back in and played the rest of the game. Hopefully it’s minor.

Yes he came back in and played like crap.....

Things I hear; Panic.

And I did not think we played good defense last year.

LSU did not play GREAT defense last year. That’s a fact.

Anything on Gilbert's injury?

This is sad with O. He's still attacking last year's NC winning team to cover for his failures this year to date.
Unbelievable. Aranda wasn't perfect, but he worked with what he had and carried this team while O got multiple chances to hire the right OC. Instead of being thankful, he simply spits on Aranda.
This is the O we all knew would show up eventually. It's the same guy we saw at Ole Piss.

So what happened?

Has he watched the same shite show this year that we have??

Yea man, this subtle Aranda stuff makes me more uncomfortable than anything else I am seeing right now.
I have a lot of questions about the circumstances of his exit, the ensuing attrition of the younger LB talent, and Dave’s overall role in the program (beyond calling defense).

What would you call this years defense ?

Did he mention anything on being 0-10 on 3rd downs??????

I'd also like to add if Aranda was not that good and the defense wasnt that great then why did you have to keep increasing his pay so others wouldn't pull him away until he was the highest paid coordinator at the time. Thus setting the standard for coordinator pay for LSU and thus we have Bo's contract. But the defense wasnt that good right coach? Joke.
