Coach Jones was and is a good basketball coach. For reasons beyond his control, he wasn't a good fit at LSU.

Why was he unable to make a NCAAT with a team that had Simmons, Blakeney, Hornsby, Sampson, Quarterman?

Takes a pretty special talent to screw that up

Actually, this is exactly what I thought it would be. Love Dale but he has always been, how would you say, out of touch.

Hmmm.... that sort of contradicts this:

So instructing players, devising strategies and game day coaching were all beyond his control?

Dale needs to give Alexander a copy of Malcolm X.

His instructing, devising strategies and game day coaching were not an issue.

I don't think anyone can dispute this.

Woodward is heading up the search committee looking for a new President of LSU systems. When he is done he will let us know who he has chosen.

Brown might have built the basketball program, but he did more to destroy it than where it was. He screwed it up twice with his boy Johnny Jones.

Correct - he did all of those things, but he just didn't do them successfully. Come on dude, what was beyond JJ's control?

That was beyond his control. If you can't coach, its beyond his control.
All I ever heard him tell his team was, "play harder".

I'm pretty surprised there are 7 parishes without anyone in the graduating class.
I’d prolly get about three or four of them right off the top of my head.

And a trip to banland for my associated commentary.

Dale needs to stop. I worshiped coach Brown when I was a kid during the 1980’s but he needs to keep his nose out of this. No one knows who Dale Brown is.

I had words with Dale about this. We're currently not talking.
