re: Coach 0 should NOT get an extension

I see what you’re getting at here but I don’t believe you’re thinking it through. Presumably Orgeron is pushing for this extension but he gains nothing in your scenario. LSU wouldn’t be contractually bound to anything, or owe him anything, beyond the 5th year of his current contract unless it’s at their discretion.
I have no doubt that Orgeron is the one pushing for this, and I believe he's doing it to try and get a raise. However, he has no leverage. At this point, LSU should offer him a 1-year extension that is essentially an option year for LSU. If he turns it down, so be it.
This lets him sell the long term angle to recruits while LSU isn't actually handcuffed to him for any more money.

The “Coach 0” shite is stupid.

Aramarkalleva better not even think twice about a contract extension. You watch though, if we beat Arkansas, A&M and get a "Participation Bowl" win, Snow Peas will be all over that extension!

i concur, but it would look bad in recruiting..i guess a marginal extension and make sure his buyout isn't stupid.

The question here is not how do we beat Bama...it’s how do we get a point? If he’s shutout again in Tuscaloosa next year with Ensminger I consider that strike 3 and both gotta go.
Go hire Freeze or Briles and revamp this bitch or get out.
i couldn't agree more.

Were you thinking NY6 Bowl before season?
Thats why he gets one. He exceeded all of yalls 8-4 record.

Continued Bama debacles along with most of us forgiving the shitty offense all season supersedes the record, at least for me.

by the grace of God, please let Ensminger go

He not's even half way through his current 5-year contract so why is extending his contract even a consideration at this point? I get the recruiting aspect of it, but this situation is different than other schools in my book. We hired a coach that nobody else wanted. He has a hell of a lot more to prove. I understand we've had a good year so far, but the excrement our offense left on the field Saturday night and the 100+ ranking in total offense says he has not proven himself to be the answer as LSU's long-term head coach.
This is not New Mexico State, Illinois, or Wake Forest. This is LSU, and we demand more. The AD should not even consider extending O's contract until at least half way through his 4th year.

No extension whatsoever. Earn one first.

10 wins is mediocrity? Not sheriff srs.

You cannot fire a coach with 2 losses. Plus, contract extensions are just part of it. You have to have a contract in place so recruiting and culture can continue. When you decide to fire you just have to fire with a longer contract in place.
LSU cannot just go and negotiate contracts completely different than every other major college.

quote:i do. A top ten season is a great season and a great accomplishment for the team especially considering preseason predictions of 6 or 7 wins.
Who cares?
quote:you mean we have a coach with the ability to win 86% of his games, multiple SEC championships and a national championship over the course of an 11 year career? This is great news!
this is just Les Miles 2.

It is being realistic.
"Come work for us!! If you dont get 10 wins minimum and beat alabama every single year, you are outta here!".
fricking stop lol.
Firing a 10 win coach is fricking retarded. Like water boy type retarded.

His results are good. Renegotiate at the end of his contract period is OK though. He isn't going anywhere.
He has done a great job to date. No one can rationally argue that he has failed at any level.
