I'm all for this charade it that's what it takes for O to make a change.

- O can save face by not hiring three OCs in three years, and Derek/Ree can spin this however they like.

- Ensminger can become the defunct silent partner for a year before he rides off into the sunset.

- LSU can justify an uncomfortable hire by not "technically" giving him full reign right away.

- LSU will finally have a dynamic offense not in the statisitical cellar, becoming much more attractive to recruits.

As long as this guy's at the top of the list:

You think he's gonna come here as "co-coordinator" with Ensminger?

"Co-coordinator" is a title.

What responsibilities he gets will determine if he does / does not come to LSU.

For 1 Million dollars yes.

E makes over 2xs what he’s making, at a P5 top 10 school.

All Briles need is Kiffin telling his buddy O that he can trust him.

For large amount of money, he probably would bark like a dog if asked.

You give Baby Briles the keys and let him do whatever he wants

I just don't see why he would come to LSU as a co-coordinator, even if it's just in title, when he's gonna be the most sought after assistant coach in the country. He can go to another P5 school and not have to deal with that at all.

I'm afraid not, but I don't mind hoping.

You're right.

Our best bet is still for E to ask to go back to a position role.

Co-offensive coordinators? So when the offense doesn't succeed who does the rant blame?

I've actually already posted about this scenario.

Sullivan is gone after this year leaving a passing game coordinator position open. Joseph becomes the full WR coach (don't like it, but we are stuck with him).

We hire a new co-OC in Sullivan's spot that works with Ensminger whose contract ends in 2019. SE retires, that guy becomes the full OC with a nice raise.

I actually think this is a plan. Sully was a one year deal like Jenkins to get the position coach coached up. SE was elevated as a stop gap while they explored options. They just couldn't come out and say it. JMHO

Joseph is actually pretty good at recruiting

The lowest ranked recruit is a 88 3*

Ensminger can go back to TE's. he didn't want to be the OC in the first place and just did it because we needed him to. I think he was just a quick bandaid for the season because we couldn't find a top notch OC on short notice.

Do we know this for a fact? I mean I remember the NO HS coaching fiasco after the juluke deal, but this hasn’t blown over enough for us to find a competent WR coach/recruiter for the NO market?

Yeah. You're probably right.

I'd start by offering him Co-OC, then offer him full blown OC if he turns it down.

Well that's the sole reason we go Joseph was to smooth over the Nawlins coaches. I wish we had gone after Tiny Hull instead. He can at least coach. Maybe with the change in HC at Kansas we can get Hull, but that ship has likely sailed and there might be bad blood now.

I do; however, believe that if we get a really good WR coach and prove we can competently develop players, we will be able to recruit N.O. just fine, but I know there is a lot of politics at play in N.O.

This would be my preference as well. But O isn't going to admit he fricked up his main hire as HC, twice in two years.
