Ensminger can go back to TE's. he didn't want to be the OC in the first place and just did it because 0 forced him to. I think he was just a quick bandaid for the season because we couldn't find a top notch OC on short notice.

Fixed it.

Does Coach Orgeron really need this to save face?

If you paid attention to his pressers, he always has to bring up that when he walks in and makes suggestion, his staff says, yes sir that's a great idea/point we will get right on that! He knows that he is not respected and tries like hell to validate himself.

Then you have REE/Ponamsky

They need to clean house on the whole offensive side of the ball then hire briles and let him bring his people in.

The man loves being the boss, that much is evident.

I don't know why it's important to point out to the media that your coaches do what you tell them to. Reeks of insecurity.

2 years in a row is a failure, why would anyone believe that the 3rd time would be any different?

WE would just have to wait and see. Hypothetically, if Briles were to come in as the OC and lights it up and does very well against Bama, at that point I don't believe anyone would care how many OC's it took before O got it right.

Yep, we get it and we know, you are the HC.

That was the root cause to him and Canada fighting. Canada was not afraid to say, "uh no, that's stupid"

There were other issues, but that was the start.

The deal would have to have a 'firm' understanding that in 2020 he would run the show without interference from "Mr. Ed"...hahahahaha

I like this idea...a lot.

Also helps with recruiting/stability and minimizes the “3 OCs in 3 seasons” criticisms/narrative.

But depending on the egos involved and expectations/boundaries being set up front, very well could be a recipe for disaster. Is Briles known as a good guy or an arse? Easy to work with?

But O isn't going to admit he fricked up his main hire as HC, twice in two years.

He does not have to admit it. Everyone knows it to be true.

Ya think? Why do you think he throws players under the bus. Inferiority complex, narcissist.

I'm all for this charade it that's what it takes for O to make a change.

- O can save face by not hiring three OCs in three years, and Derek/Ree can spin this however they like.
- Ensminger can become the defunct silent partner for a year before he rides off into the sunset.
- LSU can justify an uncomfortable hire by not "technically" giving him full reign right away.
- LSU will finally have a dynamic offense not in the statisitical cellar, becoming much more attractive to recruits.
As long as this guy's at the top of the list:

Actually that is a fantastic plan, because even though Freeze is the better option because of his recruiting prowess he won't do something like this when Auburn is willing to give him the full reigns it looks like!!!

Would take in a heartbeat. You know he would have a very strong desire to be Saban. After all fans are talking changing coordinator because we can't score on Bama right?

I still don't understand why O hired Canada in the first place. Potential personality conflict should have been obvious during the vetting and interview process. There were signs from his previous jobs that he wasn't a "yes man".

O will never step out of his comfort zone again after that debacle.
