No thanks to Petrino or Freeze. Lets fire Alleva, bring in Woodward and have him hire Chris Petersen.
None of this will ever happen !

Well why in the fck did O waste a year with Canada then? He had to know what Canada was about scheme wise and personally to an extent right?
Exactly. The "O just needs time" argument doesn't hold weight after he hired an OC he didn't really want and then fired him after one season.
Either he wins, or hits the fricking pavement.

Not gonna happen my friend. LSU will not pay two buyouts and pay an additional HC and staff.

You are making a parallel where there is none re: Orgeron and Aranda.
I merely said that after the O disaster, we're going to hire a proven head coach. I never implied that O also had no head coaching experience. We all know about the Ole Miss disaster.
I made zero parallels between O and Aranda. Just said that our next head coach will be a proven winner as a head coach.
ETA: Can a guy with no HC experience succeed? Of course, and there are plenty of examples, like the one you gave. But many/most of the premier college coaches today (Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh) proved they could win at smaller schools, then moved up. It's risk reduction to hire a guy that's won before.

Name the last major college football coach to be fired after year 2 that didn't involve some major off the field issues.
Name the last time a top 10 program hired a DL coach that couldn't get an interview for the Syracuse HC job and was the worst coach in OM history.

Don't care. Clay needs to tell us who the top 3 AD candidates are first.

Kiffen is not a likable person, not many people can stand to be around him for any length of time, not even his wife ! Alabama left him on the tarmac cause they couldn’t stand a long ride home with him ! And there are number of other instances
Saban isn't friendly, and Meyer doesn't seem all lovable either. But who cares.
I want a winner.

The trend is beginning to move in the other direction. Smart, Riley, Dabo have all been successful with no prior HC experience. I don't mind taking a chance on a young coordinator.
Let's be honest, we still have 5-7 years of the Saban machine to endure. I don't mind taking a risk on a young guy and seeing if you strike gold. I would rather that than hiring somebody just because they have HC experience.

if O goes 7-5/8-4 he is toast
Incorrect. If O wins at least 6 games this season, he's still in.
If he only wins 6 again in 2019, he gone.
Clay is an awesome bomb thrower but he's wrong on this one, as much as the negatigers may rejoice.
It doesn't really matter though because we're going to win 9-10 games perennially, finishing 2nd or 3rd in the West forever.

So, if he wins 6 he's staying, but if he wins 6 he's fired.

I should edit that... I mean 6 this year coming up and he's good. But then if he wins 6 games again, meaning 2019.. THEN he's gone.

If he wins 6 games in 2018 only winning the West will save him in 2019.

What about a 6 win season in 2018 but a 10 win season and 2nd in the West in 2019?

If he only wins 6 games in 2018 he should be fired before Thanksgiving dinner is served.

If he goes 6-7 he gone
If he goes 7-6 he should be gone.

Probably Jon Embree at Colorado or Turner Gill at Kansas.
