Maybe. Cignetti has quite a ways to go to even match the accomplishments of Les Miles.

He has two games to go to match the accomplishments of "Prime Les"

About the worst comparison I've ever heard.
He's much closer to Kiffin in terms of having the ultimate confidence and giving smart answers to stupid questions.

Nothing about Cignetti reminds me of Les quite honestly.

Grew up with prime Les, loved those teams. Cignetti is redefining the sport, last 2 seasons for Indiana are among the best coaching jobs in the history of the sport

Cignetti is like an Orca. Les was like one of those Giant Sunfish that just flail around on the surface.

As an avid saltwater fisherman, I would give you more of votes if I could for your analogy. Well done.

Les had more talent and wasted a lot of that talent and his offense was trash post 08
Cig is out coaching people and has developed his players.
This is a terrible comparison

Yes it is, Cignetti’s worst day is better than Les’ best day

How does a good coach remind you of a terrible coach

He needs two more wins to match the accomplishments of Les. If he wins the national title this year, he'll have the same amount as Les. Les only had one other Conference championship and lost to Bama in the national championship.

What Cignetti has accomplished, even without a National Title, is amazing.
He's far more articulate than Les. Les was colorful because he appeared to be the town idiot at time.
Cignetti is just peculiar without any charm.
His teams are more disciplined than Miles and they certainly run a balanced offense.

quote:He may be on the spectrum. Not an insult by any means. He legit looked uncomfortable on the stage receiving the trophy and said in multiple interviews he just wanted to get home. He often observes the whole field without turning his head and doesn’t like eye contact. In the biggest moments he wasn’t very emotional and his smiles are sometimes forced. All of these things are awesome BTW. (Also 25 and 2 in two seasons…legend already)
He’s quirky AF

i could see Cignetti having the same results at lsu

uh....I don't see it.
You think if what you would call prime Les - which let's say the Les of 2005 - takes over this Indiana program two years ago he even has a winning season the last two?
I'll grant you he'd still be a quirky as hell.

Agree with the quirkiness but that’s where it ends. He’s a clown with an offensive mastermind.

When he was being interviewed on the field after the win, I was thinking he reminded me of Les circa grass-eating.
