Christian Laettner On Barstool’s “Pardon My Take” Said He Was Shook The Most At LSU Game

They asked him if all the hate he got while at Duke bothered him.
He said it really only got to him when the fans at LSU were chanting gay slurs at him and he was ready to explode.
I dont agree with the fans doing that but I bet the atmosphere for that game was unreal

It's on both the "I Hate Christian Laettner" doc and maybe the SEC Storied "Shaq and Dale"

He tore us up late in that game. Probably tore up Thomas Hill later that night.

A lot of the hate for him in that game was because he was picked for the 1992 Dream Team instead of Shaq, who was a better player.
But yeah, I arrived at LSU in 1991 and never saw a winning football season as a student, so people really cared about basketball, and the PMAC with Shaq and Chris Jackson was incredible.

more likely Brian Davis. It was Laettner's SI preseason interview where he made repeated bizarre comments about his love for Brian. Read a whole lot different than "we all love each other ". This was pretty weird.

I was in school when that came out and when he was saying he faced all kinds of slurs and other things at games and the 30 for 30 just cuts to “Baton Rouge Louisiana - LSU Duke 1991” and we all looked at each other and thought “of course”

Well that’s partly your fault, I stuck around for 8 years to better my odds. I got there in 1992, and baseball carried the rock back then.

That was the instigation.
Krzyzewski was funny talking about the LSU episode. He said the atmosphere was unbelievable. Laettner was giving a little back to the fans near the end of the game. He pulled Laettner aside and said, "Hey Christian, let's just try to get out of here {alive}. Okay?"
