He has a good voice I just don't like the delays in his calls and talking over the action. He and Doug Thompson have terrible chemistry.

I am happy with Chris Blair. Give him time to grow in to being more of a homer.

Look...Milo Hamilton is not walking through that LSU broadcast booth anytime soon.

Hawthorne was better than Chris is now but Jim could be a grouch if a baseball game wasn't over by 10:00 pm. I could listen to Hawthorne and know if the Tigers were winning or losing just by the inflections in his voice.

TGOAT - SCULLY

Scully, a life long Dodger, was unbelievable on the call and he was not a fan of either team, especially the Mets. Does not need to be a fan IMHO.

for the broadcasting? Not shitting on Chris just wanted to know what you guys thought about the situation.

LSU continues to have a professional voice in the booth in the tradition of John Ferguson and Jim Hawthorne. Lets not bring in some folksy bumpkin with a drawl that makes him sound like he has a mouth full of crap. Check out Georgia, Miss State, , Alabama , Tennessee and you will see what I mean. I could care less if some of these announcers are legends, they are extremely grating and get old fast.

Our fan base is never satisfied and do not appreciate what we have. Instead some prefer to focus on the occasional gaffe when they have no idea how difficult it can be to call a game properly. Chris Blair is developing an appreciation for LSU athletics and the culture of the people in Louisiana. He has developed his style and will adapt it to LSU as needed. Lets appreciate him and hope he is in the booth for another 30 years like Jim.

I feel like some Louisiana natives have some odd opinions regarding LSU. LSU is a national brand, so it's easy to get someone outside of this tight knit local group to want to come to BR.

If you hang around LSU for any amount of time and are not from a rival school, you will fall in love with the place, the culture, etc.

Why the hell would you go after a local guy 'just cuz' when you can get someone who is good at his job? The passion will take care of itself.

At least he regularly tells the score. Hawthorne would go innings at a time without a reminder.
It was impossible to jump in mid game and know where we stood.

What does that mean a "real fan"? I had already moved out of the listening area before he took over. Heard very little of his broadcasts. Is he not an LSU fan?

I listen on the LSU sports app. Sometimes this season I just preferred the radio broadcast.

What culture would that be?

The LSU "Good Ole Boy" we only hire friends, relatives and former athletes or the Louisiana "Culture" of partying, addiction, drunkenness and ultra mediocrity acceptance?

I was born and raised here; lived here for most of my life. LSU/GBFTL Alum. I know that culture and have not ever participated in it or ever will. (Outside of attending LSU Sports events)

BTW, the OP seriously needs to get a life; find a girlfriend or some kind of alternate entertainment. (As opposed to the "All LSU/All the Time" lifestyle.

I do think he does a good job but I too think he doesn't really care enough. He doesn't hardly sound excited when good stuff happens. It's just sounds weird to me. Hopefully that come more with time as he's more invested.
