That’s pretty much everywhere USA. Small and rural is conservative. Larger metro areas are liberal.

You ever been to Tabor City or Whiteville, NC? These areas are more like the Mississippi Pine Belt than any other region. It's not just the political distinction. It's the degree of distinction in a relatively small geographical sample.

Court documents show Hood was sentenced to 30 days in jail in the Mecklenburg County Jail and 36 months of probation. She was also ordered to pay $765 in restitution.
How long did she take to turn herself in? Did she sober up or go drop off something she didn’t want the want the cops to see?
She didn’t just hit and run. She ran a red light and was likely speeding when she hit him. The penalty is a joke and only 1/3 of what she could have gotten for just the misdemeanor charge before even considering the felony hit and run charge.
Also killing someone while speeding to run a red light should be more than a misdemeanor charge.
