Yeah, talent and execution are not even relevant. Everyone knows the best part of any sports is watching the coach

No reason to ask; it's obvious. We don't have a lot of power, so when we get a guy on first we don't wait for two singles. We try to steal second or hit and run. Smart moves. Some work. Some don't.

I wouldn't have a problem with some of the statements he makes about players if he ever took any of the blame himself. He needs to listen to his own speech about accountability.

Good point..he didn't say in the interview that I just saw, "ultimately, it's my fault". I was waiting for it...

Since he recruits said talent and in charge of execution he is ultimately responsible.

You people complaining are nuts. Wait till we start losing again and you have 5-8 really bad years then all of a sudden you look and ask what the hell was I bitching about.
It will happen, trust me. So shut up, including myself, and let's just try to have fun and enjoy.

You must not read many posts on the Rant. This is pretty intelligent compared to others…

So, to clarify, the guy who openly admitted he stopped recruiting after we won the CWS sees fit to talk about holding other people accountable?

And someone should ask him why he runs us out of so many innings? It seems every time a runner gets on, it's a hit and run or steal and it has not worked out well at all. Against Tulane, runner on first, one out. He steals and gets thrown out. Next batter gets a hit. Instead of two on with one out, thers's one on with two out. Sometimes it's best to not coach so much.

Is it a bad thing to put pressure on the defense? I don't think so. I support his aggressiveness on the basepaths. It usually works out. When it doesn't he looks like a dumbass. When it does it's situation LSU because we're the best!

Mac Marshall. Danny Zardon. Grayson Byrd. Man would those be some serious difference makers on this year's team. I wonder why they aren't with the LSU program anymore?

I don't think Mac Marshall was ever serious about playing. I think he was trying to pull a Zach Lee and it ultimately back fired. I know people that were in his class that summer and said he almost never came to class and when he did he just blatantly slept the whole time.

It's risk/reward. If we don't have a potent offense, let's try to manufacture runs.

Personally, I love aggressive base-running. Put pressure on the pitcher, catcher, and infielders. I'd guess that, more often than not, we'll benefit.

If only there was some kind of statistical analytics to determine the intelligence of taking that risk

Based on what? What situations?

We're not consistent with our methods. Low scoring game, can't produce runs, we refuse to move players over. We're tearing the cover off the ball, and we take risks. Doesn't make sense.
