Says CM is getting called out on throwing his players under the bus

Update: Said if people want to hear the truth then they should be able to handle it as well.

Said that he knows that its not one play that defines a win or loss, but then he talked about accountability.

The mirror may not be so kind to him when he looks at it next time.

I wouldn't want to play for him if I were a college athlete.

Well he is right. You all hate Leslie for saying nothing and the same for Johnny. But you hate PM for the exact opposite

Mac Marshall. Danny Zardon. Grayson Byrd. Man would those be some serious difference makers on this year's team. I wonder why they aren't with the LSU program anymore?

This might be the stupidest post I have ever read on the Tiger Rant! Taking personal responsibility is what most normal coaches would say not throwing players under the bus. It all starts and stops with the head coach

Mainieri's been throwing players under the bus since 2007. Why is it suddenly an issue so big the media is running with it? People are fed up?

Yea I can see how that was so funny.

If pm said well I thought I effort was there and and we completed but we just didn't have the want to win, you're little whiny arse would be complaining just like you are now.

That makes no sense in relation to what he actually said.

Could you imagine what today's media would do to Ditka, Schembechler, Knight?

As a matter of responsibility, the buck ultimately stops with the Coach. Fans know during the course of a game what goes wrong especially errors in baseball, blown coverage in football, etc. But, acknowledging a problem and throwing a player under the bus are two very different things.

So what exactly did he do? I was in the woods for a week.

I've said this so many times now. I don't care that PM is a dick. Most good coaches are. I care that he's wrong about the criticism. That one play did not lose the game. And he even dances around totally saying it didn't play a part.

He basically says that every game is made up of many plays and moments that can singularly or as a group make the difference between a win and loss. Which is true! But it wasn't the case with this play when your offense only scores 1 run anyway.

There's a difference between telling a player they are screwing up while in the locker room vs saying it in front of a camera.

Someone should ask him about his questionable bullpen moves and leaving pitchers out laboring when they are obviously done.

Because they thought they were entitled to a starting position without competing for it.

Bertman was absolutely brutal to some of his players, but it made them mentally tough or they quit.....

And someone should ask him why he runs us out of so many innings? It seems every time a runner gets on, it's a hit and run or steal and it has not worked out well at all. Against Tulane, runner on first, one out. He steals and gets thrown out. Next batter gets a hit. Instead of two on with one out, thers's one on with two out. Sometimes it's best to not coach so much.
