The sooner we start CG as a true freshman, the better off our program will be. JJ has had plenty of time to unfold as a starter, and he has failed miserable time and again. Sorry, but it will be extremely difficult to watch LSU next season with Jefferson as the starter. JMHO

how did he fail?

do you think Garrett will be more successful next year than Jefferson next year?

is there no way JJ improves from first year starting to second?

Good idea. Put all our hopes for another season on a new QB's shoulders AGAIN. Thank God you're just a message board loser and the fricking head coach.

Yeah, because CG looked like a great gunslinger standing on the sidelines with his headset this year.
The way people post here you'd think we had benched John Elway.

I agree that Jefferson was pretty bad this year (his throwing motion is terrible), and who knows if he'll improve...but we can't start a 3rd season in a row with a new QB. Hire someone that can coach QBs and give Jefferson another shot.

What made him so bad?

Was it the pretty good 62% completion percentage? The decent 2.5/1 TD/Pick ratio? 2,100 yards? A better QB efficiency rating that JaMarcus Russell his Sophomore year? All done with the worst offensive line I've ever seen.

He did a poor job reading coverages. He took far too many sacks. The middle of the field was a foreign concept to him. Our offense was ranked 112 (not all his fault obviously). His clock management is putrid. He never got better.

Should I go on.

Look, with the right coaching, he has a chance, but this past year, he was pretty bad.

Did he really? Yet still had a 62% completion percentage?

He did at the beginning of the year, but he did a good job of avoiding sacks against Arkansas and Penn State. He was great at scrambling and keeping his eyes downfield against Penn State.

He could have used his tight end much more. He threw to the TE some against Arkansas and I though he might finally be learning how to. Hopefully he'll continue to learn.

Other than not knowing the clock started against Penn State after the personal foul, there really wasn't any instance of his clock management hurting us this season. He also led the game tying drive against Arkansas. Putrid?

That's just stupid.

I thought he improved at the end of the year...especially when he's teaching himself how to play QB...

We are doomed regardless of who is QB if we dont fix the Offensive Line.

All this bitching about LSU players (who chose to come and play for LSU) is ridiculous.

The #1 priority should be fixing the OL.
