My god we have the most insecure fanbase in the country. It's just a prediction on a website. Why does every LSU fan need to have validation from ESPN or any other media outlet to tell them they're good? If this guy predicted we would upset Auburn, you'd be proclaiming what a great writer he is.

What credit does this LSU team deserve? Have they proven anything this year?

Well now you sound butthurt. This is a discussion board, on which we discuss things. Look away if it hurts your eyes.

But if you'd actually read anything, you'd notice that most people are just taking exception with the lazy writing. Those are called opinions.

I don't think that we will win, but I don't think it'll go down the way the writer thinks.

You should check the prediction thread. Not many people expect LSU to win.

It's not Nick Marshall sitting in the pocket passing the ball that can hurt us. It's the extended plays and the pop passes off the read option (see: late TD to Coates in Iron Bowl last year) that can go for big plays. And like others said, they have some talented WRs

This is what worries me the most. I don't care if you have Sherman, PP7, earl Thomas, and Byrd on the back end, if you can't pressure the QB they will get shredded. The LSU Dline better put their big boy pants on because containing Marshall isn't easy, especially with little push from the DTs.

its purely a match-up issue at the worst possible time. if this game was a month from now, it might at least look like we have 11 players on defense. but it's 3 days from now, and we have some issues, to put it kindly.

our LB's being fooled by the misdirection is kinda scary, I'd say.

If the glaring issues that were exposed in the MSU game haven't been addressed then I agree.

If he hasn't made any adjustments and the D gets spread out and gashed the way they did against MSU then yes chavis is going to catch some shite.

Wisconsin had no trouble running the ball against LSU until Gordon went to the sideline and their coach inexplicably started putting the ball in the air. Their QB couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat and they had 24 points on the board 3 minutes into the 3rd Quarter.

LSU had to be worried that MSU was going to attack them on the ground the same way Wisc. did. Nevertheless, MSU racked up 300 yards rushing and 34 points. It could have been worse.

Now here we are with another top-20 rushing team. Unless there have been drastic adjustments/changes for LSU's front 7, it's hard to imagine AU won't put up at least 30 points. Everybody is excited about the QB, but if this defense hasn't improved since MSU, it could be a long night.

is the "passing attack" thing really so inflammatory?

Nick Marshall and the passing attack will unleash the big, talented receivers on the LSU secondary to balance things out just enough

they do have big receivers and even 100 yards would "balance things out just enough". i think thats his only point.

and fwiw, CFN actually seems to like LSU. they were maybe the only site that had us at number 1 all year in 2011, well before bama, and there was no bigger JaMarcus fans on earth. all during his final year they said repeatedly that was making throws every game that maybe 5 NFL QBs could even make.

So you're saying the offense perform any different with Harris than it did with Jennings? Also they scored 31 through 3 quarters.

Eh, I don't know if pressuring the QB should be too much of a priority. The worst thing the DL can do is to shoot too far up field. That'll leave Marshall with entirely too much room to run. I think the key is containing with the front 7. KState did a great job of that. They forced Auburn to play sideline-to-sideline, and kept the play in front of them.

It's not that it's particularly inflammatory; it just completely whiffs on how good LSU's secondary is. It's mentioned like something Auburn will just turn on when needed, without any difficulty or resistance.

Maybe if our LBs are not where they're supposed to be, they'll be where they need to be, by accident, being out of position actually pays off.

Stay positive, man.

Their spread option run first offense could give us more problems with the run, but we are first against the pass in the SEC, if those rankings mean anything.

The only way this doesn't happen is if Marshall never runs directly at Welter.

You always need to pressure the QB.

Which is why I said the DTs need to step up. The ends are most likely going to be focused on containing Marshall. If the DTs can't get any push then he's going to carve up the secondary. I don't care if Marshall is a below average passer, if he has no pressure someone will eventually come open.

I had said 38-24 Auburn, so that's pretty close.

Has anyone told the writer that Harris is starting this game?
