You always need to pressure the QB.
Yes, but with a running QB, containment is more important.

Which is why I said the DTs need to step up.
Our D-linemen used to have really bad habits of getting behind a mobile QB. Chavis broke them of that somewhere along the way. We should probably be a little more focused on plugging the middle. I'd be content to let him try to beat us with his arm if it means we don't get gashed for 225+ up the gut.

it just completely whiffs on how good LSU's secondary is. It's mentioned like something Auburn will just turn on when needed, without any difficulty or resistance.

If we fall for play fakes like we have been doing Auburn will be very successful throwing.

is the "passing attack" thing really so inflammatory?

nick marshall isn't known to be that great of a passer. had they said he and the RB's would run all over LSU, i could have seen their point.

If we don't stop the run and generate a pash rush, Marshall will have a field day against our secondary

Marshall is an outstanding talent but no where near the passer that Dak or even Harris is. And the LSU secondary is one of the top five in the SEC from what I've seen. The MSU passing plays were a result of awful communication more than anything; half the D lined up in man and half in zone is bizarre and definitely the coaches burden to bear. Agree that they need to contain Marshall, but they do want him in the pocket and not running wild up the middle.

Something the D handled well last year, but if the games against Wisky and MSU are any indication, this year we're likely to get gouged for at least a few of these big plays...

Hopefully this is offset by a resurgent offense...

I'd agree that we have a filthy secondary...when we don't have breakdowns like we did vs. MSU.

we never got any pressure on Prescott he had all day for his receivers to get open.
