I don't care who you are, how long you have been in the system, etc...

We will play the best available QB we can put on the field.

No QB at LSU should ever be guaranteed anything other than an opportunity to prove you are the best.

AND GO!

We had opportunities to pursue D. King, Houston and J.T. Daniels, USC. Many fans called King trash - he looks good for the U. J.T. still overcoming a knee injury.

I believe a run game will settle Brennan with better OL play. Brennan will adjust weekly. He needs more blitz simulation at practice to speed up his hot reads. It is not an end all, but it may help him to see the field better.

The level of competition that king has played is well below what we played yesterday

Yea I think he can improve some but from what I saw, he just doesn’t have those killer instincts that we saw last year and I had high hopes for the guy. His confidence was shaken pretty easily. Some guys are just inherently confident where absolutely nothing fazes them because they know who they are and what they can do. Brennen has the tools to be a decent QB but he stood in one spot too long and he would also give up on the pocket entirely too fast at times. He has to work on keeping those feet moving because that helps your vision. It’s also looked either like he didn’t know the offense or was very surprised by what the defense gave him to look at.

And that could have been the whole problem? Because when he did see what he wanted to see he moved and threw the ball well. I think they just all need more game time tbh. They didn’t have near enough practice together for being such a young team. I know those boys don’t like to lose so I hope we see a little different type of approach against Vandy.

Everyone said the exact same things when we lost to Troy and then we ended up winning quite a few big ball games. Anything can happen!

The offensive line played like absolute trash

He has free rushers coming at him all day.
He didn't play good but if you give him a clean pocket at least we know he has the arm to deliver the ball. He did look scared though

His biggest mistake is complacency and putting all eggs in Brennan basket

When O was fighting for his job he went out and got Burrow to compete with Brennan, ironically.

Now after success, he lost that hunger and it looks like it’s going to cost him like it did with Miles in ‘08 w/ Mal-veto

relax y’all. Brennan will come around. Gotta work on read progression and getting the ball out earlier. Gonna be more difficult than normal especially for a new QB...no OOC scrubs to tune up against.

In Brennan's defense, he hasn't had REAL game film of himself other than mop up duty.

So, This film is ALL HIS. Most improvement is between week 1-3 so, you will know in a couple of weeks if he is salvageable, otherwise probably best to move on and get the next guy ready for next year.

First, LSU should have signed King from Houston if he wanted to come here....period! His time at Houston proved he is a quality QB. Second, there are way too many excuses being made for Brennan...OL, first start, etc. The guy has been around forever. And the OL doesn't cause him to be slow as molasses in his movement. The OL didn't cause him to double and triple clutch. The OL didn't cause those long completed passes to be very late and underthrown which shows he doesn't have much of an arm. The OL didn't cause him not to see wide open receivers who were waving their arms in the air on multiple plays where he ate the ball. There is no defense of Brennan's performance. And his stats look better than they should because that TD pass to Gilbert 95% of the time would have been an INT. Gilbert showed poise beyond his years to "intercept" a ball the CB was just waiting to intercept.

If he continues to show the lack of QB fundamentals (admittedly he can't raise his arm strength or become a track star but the other things) and he has a bad first half against Vandy, then Johnson or Finley should be brought in for some series. I know that Johnson is an athlete and can run...seen his HS footage. If he can't pass, well, Brennan can't either so that's a wash.

Wow, I didn't realize scanning the field was so easy. And my God, the guy has been in the program for 4 years. I think the car has been in the shop quite long enough {"tune up}. Every week, QBs with less experience than Brennan enter games due to injuries, sickness, disciplinary issues or whatever with starting guy. They for the most part look like they have played the game of football before!

I was watching Mia fla highlights and what did out to me was there Qb. I was like Damn, who is that guy? Got an arm, puts some zip in the ball, gets it out fast, hits his receivers in stride and looks off db's like burrow would do. Then I hear he wanted to come here and we didn't take him? Smh
