I want to say there was some third string Safety playing that never played again that got completely torched repeatedly. Don't remember his name, not sure of the number (maybe 9). We lost that game yet beat no. 1 Florida, then lost the next week against Ole Miss. What a frustrating year.

Booger said Cecil Collins was the best running back he’s ever seen at any level of football.

My HS coach ended up at ASH coaching Craig Nall and coached against Cecil.

What does this have to do with anything? Totally irrelevant lead-in. High school coaches are mostly dipshits.

Hyperbole is the most often used description of athletes. Cecil couldn't carry Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders Jock. I would take Travis Minor any day.

Saw the guy posted that Jimmy Johnson said Cecil was the best rb he ever coached. He's exactly right. Jimmy said this after he got arrested when he was with the Dolphins!

if only there was a professional league where one could display this raw physical talent so that we could judge their ability appropriately, alas.

There is dummy but unfortunately for Cecil he had to play for the prison team.

[quote]were ALL better than "the Diesel" - and i'm probably missing another 5 or so backs i would take before collins based on talent alone.

It's time to retire Cecil to the dust bin of history. 25 years ago and 3 games and at least once a month someone obsessing over what could have been.

Wrong?
Check the record books. You seriously would take Cecil and his three games over guys who played 3-4 four years for the Tigers.

I know Cecil was a headcase and had history but 15 years for what was essentially breaking and entering seems excessive. Ray Rice beat the crap out of a woman and I don't think he served any time. Donte Stallworth killed someone and basically spent less than a month in jail. Why was his sentence so severe?

Baw was amazing to watch. A threat to take it to the house every time he touched the ball

Slower and 30 lbs lighter.

Those great games by Cecil,I mean Paul Bunyan, were avg games by LF.

cecil ran a 4.51.. and LF was 30 lbs heaveier...nice try

It's like you all don't remember he got a chance to play after lsu. He wasn't good.

Cecil was such a great talent he couldn't get to 4 ypc in any nfl game woth a long of 35 yards. Such great speed ,power, and vision.

Even if I give you the 4.45 time it's not some unheard of shite.
209lbs running a 4.45 isn't special.

Cecil collins better than LF except for all recruiting sites rankings and all nfl scouts. You know... people that get paid to evaluate talent.
