I'd much rather watch us play Clemson than Tulane.

There is little incentive to schedule good out of conference opponents in this playoff system if you are in a power 5.

Bama lost to two 6-6 teams. Don't want to be left out...win 1 of them. If wins and strength of schedule matter then so should losses.

I'm sorry you don't like watching good football in the fall. You will probably get the horrible football you're asking for, though. That seems to be the trend we're on.

I guess you'd like to see LSU join the AAC so they would have an even easier path to the playoffs. You wouldn't have to worry about any challenging games during the season. Wouldn't that be great.

SEC had 3 teams make the playoffs. They are not being penalized.

Who was left out because they lost an OOC game?
Ironically, Clemson fans could make that argument. They had OOC losses to UGA to open the season and USCe to end the regular season.

If not for 2 losses OOC to top 15 ranked SEC teams, Clemson would have had a first round bye.

Ridiculous not to play Clemson, grow some and don’t fear playing anyone.

With the way it's structured currently it favors weak schedules. Until they show SOS matters I agree with this. No reason to play Clemsons or Florida States, etc.

Clemson fans can make the argument their OOC kept them out of the playoff?

Hurts if you lose. I thought to be the best you play the best. Don’t run from a challenge.

so SEC games are NOT good football? being in playoffs would not be good football?

The bama AD agrees with me and others.

your way of thinking is great if we were a shite school.

wake up.

again your thinking is really not looking out for our best interests long term now.

No, I want to play the best, you want to play losers so you can watch LSU lose in the playoffs.

There are no "our" best interests. My best interests are watching quality football during the fall, apparently your best interests are just to wait for January and hope for the best.

You're literally demanding worse football.

Surely BK has to win one - or even just not look like a dumpster fire - one of these years right?

The year after next year is our year!

There's still an unspoken advantage to scheduling better OOC games, and that's getting battle tested against real competition early. Find a way to win those games and your odds of surviving SEC play and winning a national title skyrocket.

We have a more than fair chance to lose that game. I think Kelly finds a way to lose it. I’ll feel better if Nuss is back. If not it will likely be a loss.

I'd rather watch, and see LSU win vs Incarnate Word than see another loss, probably big one, inflicted by Clemson...

So would I, but I'd also rather watch us in the playoffs than in the Takis Bowl if it meant watching us getting a boring W against a cream puff vs. losing to a top 25 team in game 1.

Not me, I don't want to just see LSU make the playoffs, I want to watch LSU dominate the playoffs. I want to watch LSU dominate quality OCC Teams. I want to watch LSU dominate SEC teams.

Yeah, wouldn't we all, but reality is that a 2019-type LSU team comes along about once every 100 years.

quote:

how about BK take a different coaching approach in first games

In the first games? That's too late. He needs to take a different approach from when the bowl game is over to when the first kick is

I'm just talking about the first game of the season and all the losses we have had and bad decisions he has made in the first games. The off-season training may be another issue, but BK has made some bad decisions about being too aggressive in 1st games when the offense hasn't had time to gel yet and has left likely points in the board that could have made the difference in two of those losses.

I want to see LSU make the playoffs, have a longer season, and have a chance to win the championship in less than completely dominant seasons. If not scheduling a tough OOC opponent helps us do that rather than losing to a tough opening opponent that is exciting to watch, so be it. We wouldn't have made it this year regardless though.
