Canada has probably had the Bama game circled on his calendar

The realist in me says that Bama wins by 17+, but Canada is the reason I give LSU a chance in this game.
It's no secret that Canada is interested in becoming a HC soon, and there's no better feather in a HC candidate's hat than out-coaching Nick Saban. In other words, LSU has an OC that is just as motivated to beat Bama as the players are. That makes him the polar opposite of Cam "mail it in and collect my paycheck" Cameron.
I fully expect that Canada will throw a ton of curveballs at Bama. Not goofy trick-plays. But rather a bunch of different packages, wrinkles, etc. that Bama has never seen on film. LSU has the athletes to take it the distance against Bama. They just need those creases that have been sorely lacking the past five years with LSU's predictable playbook. That's what Canada's offense is designed to do. If they can just catch Bama's LBs and safeties out of position, they can do some damage.
The defense's job will be to keep the team within striking distance. If they can, I think LSU has a chance to pull out a 17-14 win.

Key phrase
Is catching Bama out of position. Don't see that happening

The binder is finally revealed on Nov 4?

Hold on, now ... Dawg may be onto something.
If there's one thing that Saban and Bama are known for ... it's for lack of preparation, particularly with 2+ weeks off.
Or ... perhaps his first phrase is more likely.

Like completing a forward pass to our wide receivers?

IMO Canada can out coach Saban. The problem is Saban has superior talent on his side. Saban can beat you without scheming.
Saban wins football games on the recruiting trail.

I agree. Notice he implemented two new winkles to the offense last week:
1) hand off to h-back in semi jet sweep (as opposed to flanker)
2) tight ends in outside pass routes.

Since Danny is late on every throw they will be back in position by the time the ball gets there.

Did you watch the game? Watch it again.

It's about one-on-one match-up's, and I just don't see our advantage on offense anywhere when you look at the two depth charts. The thing that messes up Bama, is when a team brings out new things such as formations or shifts on offense that aren't on film anywhere to create a missed assignment. I do think that Canada is good at that. It's wishful thinking for LSU to have a chance on the road, but I depth in the trenches will rear it's ugly head for this game. I do however think we'll win the rest of the games on our schedule and finish 9-3, which is just ahead or at least right where most reasonable people had us predicted anyway.

Saban used to use the bye weeks to work on fundamentals and his teams were less prepared coming out of a bye. Though I don't know if he still does that.

creativity and game planning can only get you so far. This game will fall on whether the Oline can eliminate busts and sure up BPU. Struggled again with pass pro against Ole Miss.

I'm pretty sure Canada will put LSU in a position to make a big play a handful of times against Alabama.
My concern is whether we can take advantage of those plays, particularly in the passing game. We haven't shown the ability to make it hurt with any consistency.

I was is Alabama in 2014 when we played them close but still lost in OT. I watched the post game presser of Saban.
He said they specifically recruit to beat LSU because LSU is the only team that really presents a challenge year in and out (paraphrasing).
It’s the most important regular season game for them not only for conference winning purposes, but for recruiting...especially for players in LA they are interested in signing.
Saban always has this game circled.

Bama will eat us alive in the trenches.

Ok. I just did. Our receivers still caught a grand total of zero passes. ZERO. Did you watch the game?

Sadly we just do not have the offensive line to compete with Bama this year. They will eventually wear out our defense or like last year, the refs will ignore rampant holding on a Bama TD.

It's not the coaches fault that the receivers didn't catch the balls thrown to them.
