It's not the coaches fault that the receivers didn't catch the balls thrown to them.

So if Gage would have caught the ball on the third down that hit him in the hands and that number was actually 1 instead of 0, that would make you feel better about beating Alabama? Our receivers also caught a total of 1 pass vs Florida and that pass was also halfway caught by the other team.

You can't run on Bama. You have to throw to receivers out in space in order to beat them. And we haven't shown the ability to do that whatsoever. Unless you think Foster Moreau and check downs to Darrell Williams will be enough to beat the Bama D.

On the season 57 passes have gone to wide receivers and 45 to TEs and backs. Total plays: 34% passes and 66% rushes. Maybe he's trying to show different looks (to different receivers) to open bama's defense up. You're right, we won't beat bama with the run game. Contrary to what Miles thought.

I believe Saban has LSU game circled.

You know he does. Even though we've been down lately he knows he's always getting a tough game against us and never takes us lightly.

There is a level of comfort and confidence that comes with excellent preparation. The opposite, however, can occur when a situation arises for which you have not prepared. 2011 Nick saw the speed option for the first time. Neither he nor his players adjusted to it. I agree with the UGATiger that LSU will show looks that Alabama has not previously seen or predpared for. I am not sure that we have the personnel to win this year, but I don’t think we wil be shut out or get blown out. If it’s close in the 4th quarter it will be interesting to see how Alabama reacts.

As long as he doesn't line 'em up in 2 TE sets and run it straight at Bama's front 7, I'll be good with it. Frick that got old watching that over the last few years.

We have 102 completions this season. We average 12.8 completions per game. 53 passes have been completed to receivers. 49 have been completed to running backs/tight ends. THAT IS AWFUL. We aren't going to score against Bama completing 13 total passes with half of them going to tight ends and running backs. Or if Florida and Ole Miss is any indication, far more than half.

Proof that some people in our fan base will complain just to complain.

Against Ole Miss:
We scored 40 points
We racked up 593 total yards
We ran for 393 with 2 runners over 100 yds
We threw for 200 yds on just 13 passes
We threw 2 passing TDs

But all jackasses like the watcher can see is that we didn't complete a ball to our WRs

I honestly believe that if we beat Bama (highly unlikely imo) these same jackasses would come here and complain about things like "we only won cuz they gifted us a bunch of TOs, we still suck" or "We only won cuz we ran a bunch of gimmicky trick play, we still suck".

It must be exhausting being that cynical and negative all the time.

No body is excusing those two terrible losses but the fact that nothing positive can be uttered on this board without jackasses like you and the watcher bringing your negativity to the forefront is ridiculous.

Y'all are the type of people that have stress related heart attacks at 40. Chill out and enjoy the turn around.

Ole Miss is ranked 114 in total defense. I'm a "jackass" because I'm pointing out our offense hasn't done anything remotely close to what is necessary to beat Alabama? I'm not making anything up. I'm listing facts. You're replying with feelings. You're the guy who says "can't we just enjoy the win" instead of assessing what actually took place.

Vanderbilt had a great offensive game vs Ole Miss. How did they do vs Alabama? How does LSU running for a lot of yards equate to successfully passing vs Bama? Has anyone beaten Alabama by running the ball this decade?

Is that really what you took away from that game? It must be damn depressing living in your state of mind.

Hopefully he exploits the Saban achilles heel. The RB up the middle pass.

grand total of zero passes

Dang... I didn't realize that until I just checked the stats. Passes only went to Williams, Moreau, Moore, and Guice. Not a single catch from a wide receiver. Wow...

So what happened against auburn? Or are we just going to ignore that game cause it doesn't fit your narrative?

Canada has had a different plan of attack every game the past 3 weeks so who knows what he is gonna try to do in 2 weeks.

Remember when everyone bitched about us never passing to the running backs or tight ends? Now we pass it to them and you want to bitch and moan about it. We aren't Oklahoma State, were not going to pass it 40 times a game.

OP asks if we will see any wrinkles vs Bama. Since passing the ball on the outside to receivers is required to beat Alabama and given the fact that our receivers have caught either zero or 1 total passes in two of our last 3 games, that's a fairly logical answer. Why is a question and answer about the Alabama game plan equated to "omg that's what you took away from the ole miss game oh nooo you must be so sad"

Sorry for facts and logic though.

I was watching the highlights of the 2003 BCS title game a few days ago...

Man, I had forgotten just how close that game was to going to OT.

Just missed...

So In your convoluted mind having a gameplan that attacked ole miss' weaknesses (doesn't matter what they rank, their run defense was their weakness) means that we won't try to find a gameplan that attacks Bama's weaknesses (however small they might be)?

That's just dumb.

It's obvious to anyone who has been watching the games this year that our gameplan changes from game to game based on the opponent and their perceived weaknesses. It's also obvious that thus team has grown up a ton since losing to State and that the Troy debacle had a lot to do with CEO meddling in the offense.

The gameplan used against OM won't be used again Bama.

So your conclusion that since we didn't complete any balls to our WRs against OM, Bama will kill us is ludicrous. Bama very well might kill us but it won't be because we didn't throw to our WRs against OM, I can promise you that.

Also since you like facts, Pitt beat Clemson last year only completing 5 balls to WRs for a whopping 50 yards. Peterman threw for 308 that day. So to say that there is no way a gameplan that doesn't heavily involve our WRs will work against a superior opponent is dumb. The gameplan that will work is the one that gets our guys the ball with space to run.

Being that I am not a coach, I have no idea what gameplan could work but if it means throwing exclusively to our TEs and RBs, then so be it.
