J Lee syndrome. If walker Howard's dad would have left him the frick alone, he'd still be here and would have beaten out Nuss, for sure by the end of the year.

We'll lose 5 games this year w Nuss. He chokes too.
We had a double motion situation at one point. Instead of him calling a TO, he snapped the ball. Penalty Told me everything about what we're dealing with

Outside of that he played about as well as you can play.

Such low expectations. See my previous post.

He played overly conservatively and it cost us.

He needs to trust his ability to extend and make plays.

If he's just going to check down 9 times out of 10, we just as well focus on other positions as anyone can do that.

He has loads of talent and potential. If he continues to play like he did last night, it's a waste

Would not criticize Nuss too much here.

Coaches showed no confidence in the offense in the second half, no killer instinct to close out the game.

Nuss was playing really well, but hard when the coaches keep taking away downs with worthless runs up the middle. And almost no routes down field over 10 yards

Should not have to keep coming down to a 3rd and long because the first 2 plays were wasted

He has to be more confident in himself and his abilities. Extend plays to make bigger plays.

Had he done this last night in the 2nd half, we win.

You are oblivious to what the play calling did to him in the second half when BK decided that he wanted to run it down their throats and tried over and over to do that, when it wasn't working. It threw everything out of whack. You also seem to forget that JD in 2022 was known as check down daniels. He would not throw it down the field. Now I realize that was probably BK holding him back....just like he did Nuss last night. They put a muzzle on that cannon arm......and it showed. Still the same, Nus completed around 75% for 300 yards....he will only get better.

Blaming this on nuss absurd.

Blame is one thing but not winning when the opportunity presents itself is another. Nuss had a pretty good stat line but so did Moss and one of them capitalized on the situation.

I thought it odd that as many 3rd and shorts we had last night there was not one QB scramble for it… that is a dimension that has to be there if we are going to threaten anyone. Last night USC did not have to worry about a QB scramble or a keeper off the zone read

absolutely....but many on here are wanting to blame Nuss, when it was the coaches who changed up the play calling in the second half thinking they could run it down their throats......that was BK doing that. When it wasn't working, he did not adapt and it threw everything out of whack.

That's because the replacement for a qb scramble from a passing qb is a screen or check down. Also besides the obvious conservative playcalling the defense was playing to prevent deep passes. Dinking and dunking is exactly what you do in that situation. His stat line also wasn't "pretty good" it was elite.

No, he wouldn't.

Something got to him… if he makes that easy, short pass late to Anderson, this board would be filled with much different material. We most likely would have won. And it was maybe the easiest pass all night for him, and he missed him badly.

He was on fire out of the gate. Maybe he just got in his head too much. He’s been here a long time, but in terms of playing time, he’s still pretty green

No, it wouldn't. It's infinitely obvious these losers were lurking waiting to hate on Nuss. It didn't and doesn't matter what he did or does. We could win every game they'd still trash Nuss.

I would like to see his average air yards per attempt. I think it’s close to being sub 5 yards

I don’t think it hurt us last night.

But I think it’s going to be pretty common moving forward to see teams bringing blitzes daring Nuss to beat them.

He bailed on a handful of plays.

Sorry, but that’s terrible for a 4th year guy. Stand the f up and throw the ball off your front foot. Stop playing like you’re scared to get hit.

Wonder how our two Heisman Trophy quarterbacks looked in game one in year one as the LSU starter?

Yep... the game was lost when we hurried to the line and ran it on that 3rd & 1 and got stuffed

Not an OC, but I think that was more coaching than anything. Seemed to be the gameplan engrained in him. Seemed to be the default everytime read #1 wasn’t open. Who knows?

Daniels and Burrow were far from perfect but those dudes never were afraid of taking big hits

Yep. His 2nd half performance was well below average. He panicks early and throws checkdowns immediately.

So, 85 yds passing vs Auburn bad or 86 yds passing vs Arkansas bad?
