From what I understand, it's mutual. Both LSU and Tulane want to cancel that contract.

Try 91-21-1 Texas vs. Rice. It's much worse than LSU vs. Tulane.

This isn't your typical "schedule the rent-a-win" contract. From what I understand its more of an agreement than anything. Good Katrina PR move that is now causing havoc for both teams.

I am honored you think so, but no I am unfortunately not the most celebrated and decorated and successful coach and AD in LSU history. However, he doesn't seem to be wrong about too much when it comes to LSU, well, except Smoke.

That's a pretty tight schedule. I'd kill for LSU to put together something like that.

But I hear something about putting McNeese into rotation for the in-state schools. Or even smaller schools. Southeastern will have a claim. Southern will have a claim... We've opened Pandora's Box by this Louisiana schools crap and it's going to bite us in the arse one day.

i'm sure this # is stipulated and i'm sure it will be negotiated for less than the stated amount

sorry bub, it's the truth. even people IN Nola don't care that much judging from recent attendance numbers.

i would rather watch lsu play tulane over ull, ulm, la tech, or a division II mcneese st team any day. i will say that growing up in new orleans probably affects my bias, but beating tulane means a lot more to me than any other state school. besides, my roommate went to tulane and i love to frick with him. we will always play an instate school, and even though the competition is not what it used to be, lsu-tulane is a storied, historic game. as far as money goes, instead of paying another in-state cupcake to come to TS, lsu at least gets half the door from the dome tickets every other year. and i was at the game in the dome 2 years ago, it was a close game into the 3rd qtr...unlike that last time we played tech, ull, or ulm. i understand the arguments against playing tulane, but don't act like it's a worst case scenario.

I don't care all that much one way or the other but we really have never given this thing a chance to work. Only one game was played in the Dome and that was at 11:00 in the morning and all of the tickets were priced the same no matter how bad they were. 59,000 in attendance under those circumstances was pretty good.

If it really helps us schedule better games fine, but with all of the horrendous OOC games we play, it seems like there could be room for a series like this even with the AD's requirement that we play 7 or even 8 home games a year.

something more along the lines of a UCLA home & home.

Would probably be cost prohibitive. A lot cheaper to send the band, players, and fans to Texas rather than CA. The A&M series used to be pretty classic.

I'm from New Orleans as well and I completely agree with this. I'm for ending the Tulane series if it gets us a quality OOC home and home. Otherwise, it's a waste of time.

Get out of the contract, and schedule A&M every year for the next six years and see how that works out.

As I recall, A&M does not want to play us. They are still pissed at us for cancelling out on the last contract we had with them.

It's true even in N.O.

Ye Old GreenWave Forum only has, what, 25 posters and most of them talk baseball and whine about all the conspiracies that LSU pulls the strings on to keep them down.
