This is really proving to get in the way. Play them once every 5 years.

I agree. The game is lackluster at best.

We've already altered this years schedule with them so we could go to UW. Now its hanging in the way of playing in the Ga. Dome and it will prove to be an issue again in 2011 when we go to Morgantown.

It just needs to be absolved. Immediately.

Not without writing a seven-figure check to Tulane Athletic Department.

I wish we could just ditch those parasites.

All I'd like to see us do is play two legit teams from major conferences every year. Florida for example plays FSU and Miami every season (at least they have the past couple years), and coupled with their SEC schedule, they traditionally rank among the top two or three teams in strength of schedule. I'd like to see us do the same.

Right now playing in the SEC gives us a decent enough SOS. I'm one of those who bitch when I see teams like Ohio State, USC etc having somewhat cupcake conference games while LSU has to battle pretty much every week in the SEC.

Not to sure how much LSU would gain vs lsoing by taking on a tough non conference schedule.

I know it's not an exciting game or beneficial to LSU, but it sure does suck to think that it won't be played, I enjoy the history of the rivalry, but I guess it's just that, history.

We can end it after this year. I want my free seats in the Dome for one more game.

68-22-7 does not a rivalry make.

This has nothing to do with it. The contract was more of a PR move than anything:

- LSU's goodwill to New Orleans
- Puts Tulane in the national spotlight
- Keeps Tulane's attendance averages up
- More ticket revenue for dome games for Tulane (I understand the 50/50 split but Tulane is still making money off this from ticket sales than playing SW Missouri State).

Its the length of the contract that is making things difficult. We've already altered it once to play Washington away this year, and it looks like we might do it again next year if we're playing UNC and again in 2011 when we go to Morgantown.

Its just getting in the way.

Katrina had more to do with it than anything else.

By making it a home and home we floated their average attendance keeping them above NCAA minimum. Then in year when they come to BR they get a check to fund their AD.

Get out of the contract, and schedule A&M every year for the next six years and see how that works out.

Better but I saw the A&M games and would "enjoy"
someting more along the lines of a UCLA home & home.

Traveling to LA would be alot more fun, but I like the idea of renewing rivalries of old. Plus Texas is a much better recruiting haven for us.

Both seeing a game in the Rose Bowl and "the home of the 12th man" is on my bucket list.

What and make them have to find another team's fans to jack up ticket prices on?
