Coach O seems to know his role and I have no issue with that. He doesn't need to be a mastermind x and o's guy on offense and defense, that's why we're paying those guys coaching that tops in the game at their jobs.

People look at it as him just sitting back racking up wins with the help of his assistants but to a degree it's like that for a lot of head coaches. Not many head coaches are successful without successful assistants. Coach O just needs to get the players disciplined, recruit top notch guys and get them motivated in the games. That's what he will be good at.

Not only that, it's a feature, not a bug.

what happened to the 50/50 pass and run. 57 rush attemtps and 17 pass attempts doesn't exactly equal that.....2 plus 2 is 4. one team one heart beat.

Strange, I was poking a little fun at Tommie Boy in reference to the Meyer v Herman offensive prowess at tOSU and you somehow circled back to an attack on the LSU HC.

I'll tell you what. Next time LSU and its HC suffer a double digit loss to a team they are favored to beat by 19, let me know.

an attack? I'm sorry you feel stating facts is an attack on O.

it's a fact that Herman has the better resume.

it's a fact that there is a portion of lsu fans that think O isn't qualified

its a fact that our AD wanted Herman over O
its a fact that for 29 of his 32 years no ad offered him a coordinators job

if you deem the above statements as attacking then you may need to find your nearest safe space.

who knew I was attacking Thursday by saying it comes after Wednesday

o can and imo will be successful at lsu

It's also a fact that Herman lost to a far inferior team at home. It's also a fact that it was so bad that fans were throwing trash on the field.

I've stated before that one game obviously won't guage the success of Herman or O. Regardless, results are results.

If you can dominate a game on the ground, I think any coach would rather that than putting the ball in the air especially when you have 2 really good running backs and your defense is effectively shutting down the other team's offense.

The difference is that when asked to throw, Etling was on the mark and the receivers were catching passes. He was not overthrowing like Harris did or being told to wait until the last possible second ( so the guy could have 2 steps) like Jennings.

Urban Meyer's coaching path.

quote:

Coaching career (HC unless noted)
1985 St. Xavier HS (OH) (DB)
1986–1987 Ohio State (GA)
1988 Illinois State (OLB)
1989 Illinois State (QB/WR)
1990–1995 Colorado State (WR)
1996–2000 Notre Dame (WR)
2001–2002 Bowling Green
2003–2004 Utah
2005–2010 Florida
2012–present Ohio State

So from 1989 until he got a HC job in 2000 he was an offensive coach.

Wait, people just said that he wanted to go for the FG and Canada talked him into going for it. That isn't letting your coaches coach. That's being involved, and of course he's going to be involved. He went with Canada this time but there will be times where he overrules him. This idea where he just sits back and lets the team run with no input is a fairy tale.

Vacherie is the same area as Larose (SOUTH Lafourche) or are you from somewhere else???

I was born in Vacherie, but I've lived the last 20 years of my life about 20 minutes from Ed's back door. I'm well versed in both Sauce Piquante and Gratons.

Good for you.

Look at Texas A&M's game for an example.

You have to keep them focused and fired up. You become vulnerable when you believe the other team can't win.

Don't hate him.

Some of you just have a problem distinguishing criticism of the professional from criticism of the person.

And I have a problem when people are rewarded based on anything other than merit. That said, it's not his fault he was offered the job.
