11-1 vs 6-7, 2 different programs at takeover, SOS 78th, lost to N. Illinois, beat worst team in playoffs in Indiana and got UGA with backup QB starting 1st game in playoffs, With Kirby Smarts dad on death bed. LOL

To be fair on the hiring of ND coach. If would have hired Marcus Freeman, would have seen good results but when? And you cannot convince me that Marcus Freeman would stay at Lsu. All his family live in the north where he is currently. He has turned down multuple jobs to go to the south.

Louisiana St Law was prohibitive in year 1 recruiting cycle.

Transfer Portal rules changed year 1.
McMahon took over after LSU HAD to fire Will Wade for football’s sake. (OLOL). Otherwise, this season would be season 1 because that was a minimum 3 year probation in football. I know y’all revisionist will remember timing different but we know when that was done.
It is not that simple to deal with all of those issues.

I would advise not trying to compare to ND. ND has the luxury of being able to make their own schedule and can make it as easy as they want. Their main rivals are having a down year as well. Are they better than LSU this year? Yes. Would they be in the playoffs if they were in the SEC? Probably not. Look at the 3 game stretch we played at TAMU/Bama/At UF. That's a tough stretch. Sure they TAMU to open the season, but so what? That was their toughest game in the whole regular season. This year was insane. We beat teams that beat teams that whooped our arse.
ND is going to lose next week and even if they don't if they can't beat OSU (guess what, they can't) ND will still not have won a title.
The SEC won't always be down. LSU won't always be down. You have to be willing to put on your big boy pants and get through this rough patch.

The McMahon hire was bad. Let's not forget that he forced Bo Pelini, a coach who had not coordinated a defense in over a decade, on Orgeron. Then he tried to hire Jimbo Fisher to replace Orgeron before settling on Kelly. Kelly will win enough games to keep his job, but he's never going to win a championship. That much should be clear at this point in his career.
LSU fans should have concerns about any coaching hire Woodward makes going forward.
