There is no denying that. The average ACT going up from a 25 to over 27 in just 2-3 years.
Do test optional students count as a 0 on this number or just aren’t factored in?
Easy to go up if you just don’t ask the ACT unless it’s high…

Even suggesting that the university improve academic standards is immediately met with downvotes. I’ve tried many times over many years. It’s ingrained into the LSU mindset at this point. Academics = enemy/bad
Nobody sane is downvoting LSU elevating standards for students
Address this and clean up the crap around campus

As much as people hate Landrys methods his turning over the BOS and the President will help LSU in all areas. JBE left LSU in a total mess I think today is a big step in turning the ship around

SofaKing beat me to it.
I call posters out all the time when they come on here and don’t tell accurate information regarding our academic success as an institution. And that honestly makes me question the true love you say you have, if you aren’t up on the facts. We are not a bad academic school. Our admissions practices have widely worked under what Tate and company did. Yes, there’s been several highly circulated PR issues, but don’t let that skew you in a world where bad talking points are regurgitated by the uneducated masses. The story of LSU is crafted first, by how we highlight our successes and share those, and continue to work on our deficiencies.
To the “selective admissions” crowd. That does not work in a society where many traditional demographics aren’t enrolling at the same rate that they once did. Combine that with ever increasing tuition dollars, to compete you have to cast a wider net. Chancellor is coming from stops at University of Alabama, University of Michigan, and the Ohio State University - I’m interested to see how he attacks admissions, bc those places are bigger and more rigorous than LSU (read as he will have to continue to cast a wide net to replicate).

Why are you making the post if you haven't been on campus? It's safe as always.

If you want the school to be better the formula is to make sure football is good.
