Nope. They already lost a game and Woodward should be fired no matter what.

Didn't we have like exactly one grainy video of him hitting a HR down the left field line? 2010 wasn't that long ago but was also like a billion years ago.

I'd be surprised if there was even that much film on him.

Everything has progressed so quickly now that you can find JUCO games from all over the country streaming on Youtube and some of them even have trackman.

Did the OP start this thread and then just log off?

Sweep

You can’t assume a sweep when it comes to SEC series. Especially a road series. Is it doable? Sure, but hard to expect a series sweep even against the worst SEC schools.

1-2 this weekend in a C-O-L-D and windy Scott Olsen Field should be considered success.

Maybe if this was still the Smoke era…

We’re #1 in the country. We should expect to win 2/3 every weekend

Vanderbilt went 26-3 one year.

No offense to Skip, but I think the SEC is a whole different monster than when he coached at LSU.

Tennessee was 25-5 last year. The SEC was not so tough. If LSU is the team most of us think it is they will coast to 22-8.

Tenn’s record with 3 of the best pitchers in the nation and a stacked lineup does not mean the SEC was easy.

I believe that is where expectations reside.

I think this is a 20-22 win team. LSU has the best team in the league but I’m not sure they are m
Significantly better than the next 2-3 teams.

The next 2-3 teams could really be expanded to the next 5-6 if we believe the rankings.

The point is that a loaded team wins more than 20 in the SEC. Some of Skip's teams were exceptions, because Skip didn't give a shite how many games he won in SEC play. Skip was tooling the team for a championship run, and he was willing to lose games to do it.

These are the tiers, as I see them going into conference play.

LSU, Tennessee - top of the league

Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss - Just below, have some issues (Georgia might be here too, I don't know shite about them).

Auburn, A&M, Vandy - Have issues, but wouldn't be shocked if they won a series against any of the teams in the upper categories.

South Carolina - will be very uneven

Mississippi State, Alabama, Mizzou - Not terrible, not great.

Kentucky - frick them.

How many loaded teams are in the sec? They can’t all get to 20. That’s the point.

I'm not sure that's true. This is where we have to quibble I guess. 2009 LSU won 20 games. That was a pretty loaded team. I guess the quibbling comes in when you talk about Austin Ross on Sundays. It is why it is difficult to talk about what is loaded. If I were you, I would just say that only loaded teams win more than 20 games in the SEC so 2009 LSU wasn't loaded. I'm not sure it gets us anywhere.

These are the last five champions. Only one has not been better than 20-10.

2022 25-5
2021 22-8
2019 23-7
2018 20-10
2017 21-9

The average record is 22-8

My whole issue is that 20 is being thrown around as if it’s the only threshold that matters. Really good, loaded teams haven’t gotten to that number and have gone on to lots of success. The deeper the league, the less likely it is for teams to get there. I’m not saying it won’t happen. but for a couple teams to get there, you have to have 4 or 5 teams win 10 or less. Who in this league is only going to win that many?
