Well you being disappointed based solely on that number proves how stupid it would be if we still won the SEC.

You know this board will be in full blown meltdown mode the first time this team drops a conference game

Yes, I think we CAN win 20 games in the SEC but it will be difficult with all the very good teams in the conference. 20 wins should win the SEC.
The goal of the season is to be no worse than a #8 national seed in order to host the super regional.
Of course, this is well known.

What are you talking about? The board is in full meltdown mode if it’s 0-0 with 0 outs and a 0-1 count in the Bottom of the 1st for home games.

No, that came later when you compared his ascension in the postseason the year before he took no prisoners to that of Romero and Bryce Jordan's tiny streaks.

These first 3 weekends will tell us a lot. Aggy, Vols, & Pigs is a tough stretche.

Would we consider coming out of this stretch 5-4 a success?

I know the SEC is tough, but in just the last two seasons, Arkansas has won 22 games and Tennessee has won 25 games.

20 games is not a crazy ask.

The college game as a whole has changed. Year after year you’re starting to see more kids choose the college route than grind in the minors.

Kids like Crews, Kling, Shores, Neal, Jones, Guidry, Noot… etc.. are starting to make it to campuses. Better players brings more excitement to the sport as well.

The anticipated Dollander/Skenes matchup should be some mound fireworks.

I can't wait to win this game 1-0 and read on the rant about how we can't hit.

I personally wouldn't. I would guess that the team wouldn't think 5-4 in the first 9 is successful. It may happen, but I will not herald it as a success or a failure. Sometimes, a mediocre result is just that.

We’ll see exactly what kind of team we have for SEC play by the end of the Tennessee series.

1-2 this weekend in a C-O-L-D and windy Scott Olsen Field should be considered success. It would have been even in the Bertman era.

That’s a tough call. Between Tenn and Ark you’ll probably see some of the best SP we will see all season.

Arkansas ace and Sun starter are both LHP, which we struggle with at times. Smith may have some of the better command we see out of a LHP this season. The key is to get to Arkansas bullpen. They rely pretty heavily on the HR ball right now.

It’s hopeful with both series being at home.

That weekend is the baseball equivalent of LSU/Alabama from 2019.

I never said it was crazy. I think we get there. I predicted 23-7 I think in Adams thread. I feel great about that. What’s crazy is saying the number is the end all be all for disappointment. If we win the sec at 19 wins, I won’t care about 20 at all. It would be rare but it’s crazy to be married to 20.
