Basically, they’re on a high after last season where just about everything went right as they took advantage of a very abnormal season when most of the SEC was down. Jimbo is getting some recruits Sumlin never got, but they were ready to run him off after 2 games last season. They’ll bring back a lot of their defense, but replacing a 4 year starter at QB and 4 OL is no walk in the park. They seem to think Haynes King will be the savior, but I have some doubts about his ability to beat you with his arm. I think the rest of the league gets back to normal this year and A&M looks a lot more pedestrian than people think.

Yes, ended strong in 2020. Their roster has more talent than past years. O line and QB will be a significant problem for them. Last year they scored 13 offensive points on the worst LSU defense in the last 30 plus years. Their defense will be really good, but I see them on the field a lot. Fatigue will be a huge factor in their losses. I see 3 likely losses with 4-5 being a reality if the QB situation doesn’t work out. They all think Kind will step in and play lights out from Day 1. It is difficult to win in this league with inexperience at QB and O line.

They were 10-1 in the 3rd year of a former national championship winning coach. They return a superior defense, and they have a lot of young talent on offense. They also play a weak schedule.
Their weak schedule, and their great defense should give them time to figure it out on offense.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. Jimbo and his staff were atrocious that game. They clearly went into the game with the plan of being balanced no matter what, instead of actually adjusting based on how things looked.
They could have beaten us 41-7 if he had decided to just let Spiller run riot on us behind that really solid O-Line, but nah, they forced a mediocre QB to throw it 30 times and he only completed like 9 of those so most possessions were totally wasted

They will likely be better than LSU

The media assumes (B/C they love them some Jimbo) that rest of the SEC will remain static and that the only team of concern for TAMU is Bama. Remember that if Max Johnson starts that game with LSU last year, I believe, LSU wins that one. They are also assuming Mond is the next Joe Burrow.
You know the truisms about assumptions.

They struggled to get points against the worst defense LSU has put in the field in 50 years. Ain’t happening this year.

Based on what? I believe last year was an anomaly. Massive loses on both sides of the ball, covid year took away preparation time, and don't discount the Pelini factor. We are returning a lot of experience, major upgrades in coaches, and we go in with an attitude wanting to prove something.

They’re going to want those 2018 Souvenir cups back so they can scratch out the date and replace it with a new date if it were to happen…

Their schedule is shite.
This and there is some momentum from last season. Particularly on defense.
That said, they are losing a good bit of production from last year's team (particularly on offense). And while they have recruited well over the last three years, they are still, on average, fourth in the SEC in the rankings. I think a big part of the optimism is that losing Mond is addition by subtraction. Maybe. But even though Mond was very inconsistent there is no substitute for experience. To expect a young QB with minimal experience to come in and make them a championship contender is a tall task.

Don’t they supposedly have a good running back?
Yeah, Isaiah Spiller is an absolute stud, and Jimbo is going to use the hell out of him this coming season in both the running and passing games. I’m sure any defensive opponent’s game plan will start with stopping #28 and forcing their inexperienced QB to beat them.
Their TE is legit good (1st or 2nd Round pick potential), and there’s some decent young talent at receiver, but I question if the inexperience at both QB and the OL will enable them to get the ball in those guys’ hands consistently.
Overall, I’d expect Alabama and LSU to be the two contenders in the West, with MAYBE Ole Miss causing a spoil or two.

No one takes that shite seriously. A&M is a joke.

Theyre breaking in a new QB after 4 years. It will not be a kind year to A&M.

A&M is synonymous with Norte Dame. Cult school freaks with a overrated shite team every year. Both have deep pockets and media always chooses them as darlings. Their fate is always the same getting their shite pounded in.

Alabama gets the benefit of the doubt as the favorite...no matter what they are losing
LSU has the ingredients in place for a run (LOTS of returning production; odd-year schedule). It all comes down to if the new coaches can perform...or if 2019 was just an aberration?
A&M has recruited well and their defense should be good. But can an inexperienced QB behind an inexperienced line compete with the SECW week after week?
Auburn has the most experienced QB of the group. Yet, his career has been peaks and valleys. Was it Gus holding them back? Or did Auburn make a mistake by getting rid of the coach most instrumental in any success they've had over the last 15 years or so?
Ole Miss is a wildcard. Clearly they can score...even though their QB is prone to throw for 5 TDs or 5 INTs on any given Saturday. But their defense was atrocious. If it is better, they are going to worry a LOT of SECW coaches this year.

They do actually have a good running back, spiller is probably the best in the SEC but the rest of their team doesnt look like a championship team. New QB, and OL. Mediocre Secondary IDK. Fong from 247 said A&M has the second best program in the West and I about lost it lol.

aTm is located just outside of the largest TV market in the SEC. Preseason hype gets good ratings and lots of clicks.
Posted on 6/22/21 at 9:25 am to jrodLSUke
How are they gonna compete? They lost the greatest QB in the SEC ... just ask him.
Posted on 6/22/21 at 9:37 am to Talmaniandevil_2534
Simply marketing and clickbait… I’m profiled as both an LSU and aggie fan, college football fan, and located in Texas. I imagine I get every single Jimbo AND aggie item on the internet… My thinking is it’s the usual hype by media selling aggie to a rabid fan base and SEC football fans
