belowpar, got any insight to offer?

My insight is 95% of people on this board are idiots and over-react to everything, but thats how it works...

Did Miles mess up, yes, is life over and LSU sucks, NOOOO...

They've lost 3 games this year to #1,#2, and a pretty good Ole Miss team at their house...They shouldn't have lost that game, but with the experience and talent LSU has right now, losing to #1,#2 was mostly expected by me this year, and if everyone is dumb enough to think the world is ending because we lost to Ole Miss then a lot of people need to simply go find another team to root for, I SURELY won't miss them.

You can bet opposing teams' coaches will use it against him when talking to recruits.

It's not because we lost to Ole Miss, it's how.
Circumstances make all the difference.

Winning is the cure for anything. So hypothetically, he could easily recover.

Doesn't mean it will happen though.

you're right!! it was just one tough loss...that's it and nothing else. there will be no other significant consequences surrounding this loss. the players are fine, the coaches and coaching are fine, and the program will again excell under Les Miles. why the hell is everyone being so MEAN and UGLY towards Les because he is such a nice guy!! tiger fans need not worry!!!

Most expected a 10-2 or 9-3 season. That's may be where we end up and if a bowl, win 10-3. CM is not going to be fired or on anyone but the idiot fans' hot seat.

He will make the necessary changes to his staff as he did at end of last season, and hear it from the SAGE, win the west in 2010 and challenge for NC.

Yes, he made mistakes Saturday. They will be corrected at the conclusion of the season and expect a miracle 2010 season.

Told you guys that CM allows the assistant coaches to coach. Crowton runs the O! Yes, CM should have overruled some of the play calls this year, last year against Bama, 2007 UK when the running back disappears after halftime, and ARK game no blitz on fourth down. CM lets them make the calls.

That's his mistake for not overruling GC throwing the ball umpteen times against Bama last year when we having our way running the ball, and being in FG position against OM and allow GC to call for pass plays.

Now geaux out and cheer for the P & G Saturday against the hogs!

Have a great day!!!

People are not mad because we lost to Ole Piss. They are mad because we saw the result of preparation which is below what most high schools have.

I hear you, and I respect your track record on here. But I believe the above referenced statement is a gross mis-characterization of the current state of the LSU program. Two years ago we won a NC in what I believe was a lucky fashion. That Auburn game could have easily ended the way the 2009 Ole Miss game did. Since that time, the program has slid backwards each season. In my opinion, we have now officially been passed by UF, Bama, and Ole Miss. And I think it's a tough sell to convince anyone that we are a more elite program than Arkansas when they have now beaten us 2 times in a row (with a chance to make it 3 times in a row tomorrow).

The program has fallen behind 3-4 other schools since Miles was hired. IMO, anyone who says otherwise is an apologist.

And let's not pretend that we are a solid 8-3 team right now. We arguably did not deserve to win the Miss State game.

A few counter comments on some of the above posts:

quote:

Ole Miss ...They shouldn't have lost that game

We were basically getting lapped in yards by OM. Their offense was abusing our defense. They never punted the entire first half (and I don't think they punted in the 4th qtr). The best one could say is that we should have gotten a makeable FG attempt at the end.

In '07 Les did what others didn't, i.e., win when the starting QB was out (SECCG). Compare USC (lost to Oregon without Booty), UF (lost to UGA when Tebow played hurt), WV (lost to Pitt when White was hurt). Les deserves some credit on this.

Since that time, the program has slid backwards each season.

'08 was a huge slide backwards. The jury is still out on '09. Two big wins to finish and I'll say we've moved forward.

Disagree - we missed a 20-something yd FG that would have made this a two score game late in the 4th qtr. That's why the goal-line stand came about to begin with.

In two different clips that I've heard this week, it does seem that a very humbled Lester Miles has learned to correctly pronounce Arkansas.

He's gonna have to win out and win about 11 or 12 games next year, maybe more. Now, every loss is going to be magnified. Every play that doesn't work if the game results in loss , fans will want heads to roll. They'll point to oxford and say, "see you can't call plays and you cost games with poor time management too" It's going to be very very tough to recover from what happend in oxford.

Give it a year or two, if we get an SEC championship or BCS Championship (if it still exists) everyone will be back on the Miles bandwagon.

The press conference was pathetic when he threw jefferson under the bus, but I dont think he is the kind of guy that will make those mistakes again. He is a pretty classy guy and it just seemed out of character.

A lot will be learned on Saturday night whether Miles can recover. Call it what you want, but the ArKANSAS game is absolutely HUGE for Miles. It will tell everyone what kind of coach he is......if the teams rises up from the adversity, he has a chance. If LSU tanks this game, Miles is done/cooked/fried. Miles may not be fired, but he should be.

thank god for Par. even the panicky bitches respect him, so when he says the over whelming majority of this board are idiots maybe people will take pause and wonder if hes talking about them.

when auburn hired chizik, how many on here said they were done. he was a joke, no coach would go there, no recruit would go there, auburn would never recover.

now theres 4 minutes to go in his first iron bowl. win or lose, what about now? think auburn is getting any respect now?

Very true, Sosays. Arkansas is big. He got knocked down...we'll see if he is a fighter.

The offense has been anemic all year...on the verge of piss poor. It's the COACHING. Therefore...if Miles takes care of business, no reason he can't make a comeback. And we STILL came within a stone's throw, of winning big.

That big stadium looming over the oaks...is one hell of a base to draw on. I hope the man makes it...he can't help if loyalty (to sorry assed coaches) is costly. And not the smartest guy on the block. Still a good man.

While I appreciate the positive attitude some people the sad reality is we will not win the west next year. It has become painfully obivous Miles flaws are starting to catch up with him and his run is over.
