I don't see room this year barring some crazy upsets.

SEC Champ
Ohio State
Notre Dame
Oklahoma
Clemson

would all be ahead of an 11-1 LSU team

Also in your scenario you have an 11-1 UGA (SEC CHAMP), 11-1 Bama (who beat LSU), and an 11-1 LSU.

Not a chance LSU gets in.

Why not? Bama did it last year

Because every year is different. Ohio St got made it in 2016 but they did not the year before. The difference was 2015 you had 4 P5 conference winners with 0-1 loss, in 2016 and 2017 you only had 3 P5 conference winners with 0-1 loss

This week vs Texas will be tough, plus the Sooners have to go to West Virginia late in the season. Will Grier is for real at QB and WVU's defense is decent this year.

Plus they’d have to play presumably WVU or maybe Texas again in the CCG. Wouldn’t be surprised if OU drops 1 but if they win the Big XII at 12-1 they’ll be in

yeah if thats how it falls, then no chance for LSU.

If LSU beats UGA but loses to Bama, then sits out the SEC CG they might have a slim shot. Resume would be compelling.

ND is a different team with Book as QB. looking at their schedule they have a good chance not to drop one.

point is there are so many schools in the mix who at worst will lose 1 and still win their conference there is just no room for us if we don't play our way in.

of course crazy stuff can happen - on both of our last championships crazy stuff happened, and in our last chance the crazy stuff worked against us - OK state losing that game during the season.

can it, sure...doubtful though

Ohio St
Clemson
Oklahoma

Those 3 are near shoe ins...meaning the SEC will get 1 team most likely.

1 of those would have to a) finish with more than one loss or b) have 1 loss and not win their conference.

if that one loss were to an undefeated bama, yes. Same with a 1 loss UGA (although it would mean we made the SECC)

I disagree. I think we have to beat Bama to get in. we have to win division. Meaning our 1 loss has to be UGA in regular season and beat them in SEC Champ.

Possibly, depending on what happens to other contenders. Some of the contenders will take a loss somewhere along the line. In the first 3 years of the CFP, there was only 1 undefeated team each year, and none last year. And the number of 1 loss teams was 5 for each year except 2016, where it was 3.

A one loss LSU that played and beat at least 4 year end CFP Top 25 ranked teams and lost a close game to a Top 1 to 4 Alabama might have a stronger SOS than a 1 loss conference champion that lost in an upset by a big margin or to a bad team.

A 1 loss 2018 LSU would have a far stronger resume than the 1 loss 2017 Bama that lost by 12 to Auburn and didn't beat a single year end CFP Top 15 team.

It's far too early to know, just look at everything that happened in 2007. It ain't over till it's over.

Eh. Miami could beat Clemson. Clemson looks very beatable.

Ohio State still has MSU, Michigan and Wisky left.

OU very well could lose this weekend. Texas will have to score 50+, but it could be a 50-45 game. OU doesn't teach its defenders how to tackle.

This is been true the last 2 seasons but they managed to finish with just 1 loss and win the ACC

Also I know saying anything bad about Miami makes one an O hater but they have played absolute garbage teams since LSU, you really can’t say anything about them
