I mean I'd like to see a 304 hitter with 14 HRs and yes a lot of strikeouts get a pinch hit chance, now and again over a guy at .236 that has done absolutely nothing.

He didn't mean to kill your dog. You are going to have to outscore some people at some point if this pitching finally fails.

I'd also rather the worst glove Travinski in over Milazzo, and predict that is what we will see tomorrow if Skenes starts. Travinski doesn't have to worry about WPs as much with Skenes having such good control.

Travinskis hurt . Who would you let jones hit for? You want him to take over for Thompson and play ss or something

Pearson got hot for a little while, but has certainly slowed in the CWS. Can't stick Jones in the outfield, and Beloso is locking down the DH spot, which takes away any chance of him starting with Tre back at first. To your point, though, I would have liked to have seen Jones get a pinch hit opportunity late, a couple of times. I thought Jones needed a mental break, much like he needed it earlier in the season, and he came back from that and hit well again. His mental break has turned into an all out benching now, but he's still dangerous at the plate.

Travinski is hurt. I kept seeing him holding his side through the first couple of games, and walking slowly back to the dugout after at bats. No one was saying anything on TV. Now that he's sat two games, people are acknowledging that he's hurt, even though I don't think Jay has said anything about it (nothing new). If Travinski can go, he probably plays, but that looks like an oblique injury to me. Those can last a while.

If the concern is too many strike outs…..just think about that for a sec. Jones was the team leader in SOs when he was getting playing time. Would he turn that around? Statistically, not likely this year. He has a very bright future though. We are hitting the ball right now. I don’t expect any lineup changes.

Jones game does not translate in Omaha right now….especially tonight. Pearson is a smart hitter who will work counts and take walks.

Jones should pinch hit on occasion.

Also we need to find a guy that can come off the bench and get a bunt down when needed.

I wish jay would get more creative on offense. (Steal some bases, pinch hit when needed) and stop toying around with the defense(the ss/2b shift is overcoaching , and tre always belonged at 1b)

We really aren't. I'm not sure the solution is Jones in this ballpark though.

There just hasn't been a time for it. But that doesn't mean that he won't get an at bat at some point. But the only one you're pinch hitting him for would be Beloso and that is not happening with how hot his bat has been.

Milazzo was 2-4 yesterday. What is your complaint? He doesn’t have enough power to fly out to the warning track?

I mean, how hard could it be? Start this morning with some grounders after breakfast and he should be good to go by tonight.

You do realize the pitching is top notch in CWS right? We've faced some great pitchers. This isn't Southern on a Tuesday night.

Yeah, let's bring out a K or HR guy against top pitching in a huge park with a forcefield in the outfield. Good idea

I would rather give Kling a shot and substitute him for Pearson against lefties than move Jones to 1st base.

I don't know, but Morgan seems to hit better when he's at first base. He seems a bit hyperactive and constantly moving. I think being at first base keeps him in the game mentally. Just my opinion.
