He plays a lot of man.

You don’t really understand the game.

He's obviously referring to the ends of games when Baker reverts to soft zones

They don't want to give up a possible big play in 10 seconds, so they give up 3 guaranteed 20 yard plays in 45 seconds

He cried like a baby for that number 5 and has done nothing all year. Jayden Daniels deserves better than what LSU fans have done to him. By the way, LSU lost wearing white again. Apparently that jersey is the curse, not the purple.

It's not that they play Zone...it's WHEN they play Zone.
Man, Zone, Match, Split, etc. are all different looks just like there are runs, passes, pa passes, screens, different routes, etc. for the offense. You use Zone to catch on offense off guard, but in modern football you can't just sit in Zone or you'll get diced up.

He plays soft zone at end of every half, and you want to look up the results. How about I just fricking give them to you we are like one of the bottom 10 teams in the nation on stopping teams before halftime from scoring. How about them apples?

He played soft zone against Ole Miss when the man man had been working the entire second half allowing them to march down the field and easily put the game out of reach. Explain that shite to me, brother how about them apples?

He once again to be consistent, switched to soft zone against Kentucky and the last minute and a half when the man demand and pressure package had been working the entire second half to allow Kentucky to easily move down the field and not only be in field range, but in range to take the fricking win? I think that’s fricking three strikes mate in my counting is correct. You got an explanation for us on that Miss Baker?

I’m not kidding when I say I don’t think he’s given up 3 catches in press coverage this year. He’s an absolute locksmith being wasted by Blake’s obsession with going into soft zone

Not all zone is bad especially when its disguised properly. But constantly sitting in Cover 3 or Cover 2 is easy to pick apart.

We used to implement a lot of quarters, man, and cover 6. But its been a lot more 2 and 3 late in halves and games. And far more often that I would have expected from Blake.

Baker uses zone something like 70% if the time.

What you’re seeing is Pickett actually being a very good zone corner as well as being elite in man. He reads and reacts in zone as well as anyone. He’s also a fricking beast in run support.

Make no mistake, DJ Pickett is an elite college corner and will be elite in the NFL as well.

It’s because Blake Baker has a Lou Tepper mindset when LSU needs to make a critical defensive stop against a decent team.

I don’t mind zone every once in a while to mix it up but they most definitely should have went after Minchey on that last drive 2-3 times. They have been picked apart every time they have played zone extensively.

And those cushions, I mean why in the world are we putting press coverage capable dbacks 12 yards off the receiver on 3d and 6 over and over as they chop their way down the field in 90 seconds?
