I've been reading a little on this. BYU is very firm on not playing on Sundays. I heard one of the analyst at media days ask what they would do if LSU game went past midnight. It is a possibility. Any thoughts?

Forfeit. It's their only option.

What I think is that they would base it off of their local time in Utah. So that would give them until 1am to finish.

Gary Crowton descends from a pale blue light atop a mountain lion, wizard hat and magic wand equipped, a playbook the size of the September 1987 copy of Reader's Digest in his belt loop, ready to conquer NRG Stadium and all its occupants as Ty Detmer, Jim McMahon, and Jimmer Fredette sing "50 ways to leave your lover."

We cancel games every year now. It's just our thing. They can test out the waters in the first half and cancel it due to unforeseen circumstances if/when necessary. like the cancellation due to the hurricane that came barreling towards Gainesville with only 6 days notice.

Mormons are awesome. Don't get me wrong- their theology is bat shite crazy and I don't agree with any of it. However, they are polite, hard-working, serve others, are physically fit, stress the importance of family and believe in their faith in the face of much hostility. I respect them a great deal.

Years ago in the Holy War the game ended at 11:59. It was asked then if they would have continued and the admin said yes. This isn't an issue.

Not true. They will allow them to finish a game if it rolls over to Sunday. They just won't start one on Sunday.

No problem. At least there won't be a lightening delay.

The question I would have is if they were to continue into Sunday, would the NCAA no longer be lenient with them and stop forcing schedule changes to appease them? Like moving around final four games to make sure they don't play on Sunday. Or would they still bend over backwards to change schedules even though precedence was set that their "No Sunday games" rule was not as finite as they once said.

Both teams run the ball a lot. It will not last that long.

Did Mormons try to stop you from eating Chick-fil-a on Sundays?
