When will LSU learn to bunt runners up? Last night was a classic example of why it should be done.

When should we have bunted last night?

No response? No specific examples? Why bother posting?

Some hit and run would've been appropriate...think Bregman singled following Laird's single. No better time, IMO.

You really think they're gonna bunt Katz?

Really tough to hit and run against lefties. We tried it twice. The first time foster went to third because that's what you do on a pop up. The second time, Ibarra ran the wrong way.

We did a hit and run with Ross. He struck out and Ibarra returned to first. Also did a hit and run with Laird and he lined out to CF and Foster was doubled up.

Pop up. Foster was on third by the time he caught it. Terrible base running.

Nobody said anything about bunting Katz. 1st and 3rd with less than 2 outs for Katz who's a flyball hitter. Screams sac fly to me, but who knows. I agree regarding tough to run vs. their lefty, but our baserunners need to have their head on a swivel and pickup the ball off the bat.

I agree the base running sucked on that one but I also think Laird's terrible bunting ability led to that. He was in an ideal bunt situation. Time for a change in the 2nd hole.

Why is it difficult to hit and run against lefties? Your objective is not to steal a base, it is to have the runner in motion as the batter hits the ball creating holes in the defense and/or to stay out of a double play.

We had the lead off guy on in 56 of the 9 innings. We should have bunted a few times at least

I didn't say we shouldn't have bunted and it was 8 out of 9 innings.

You don't bunt our best LF hitter vs LH pitching when the worst lefty is on deck

You also don't give your outs away when you are down two runs, and only have 3 outs left in the game.

If it was one run, maybe. Not two.

We were just terrible all night last night- Bregman with two errors, some outrageous number of hits, and only two runs. How many stranded runners? SMH.
