I believe the poster was talking about the money that would have gone to Underwood being available for other transfer portal prospects

Yes, that’s how I interpreted it. But I don’t think we really know how much of that money is reallocated yet. We could have the same exact guys. Or we could have used it to convince nussmeier to come back.

No it doesn’t. A stud QB doesn’t trump shite. We had a record breaking heisman QB last year. What did we win? You need balance.

LSU always figures out a way. Things work themselves out and LSU football keeps moving forward. Geaux Tigers.

The OP was literally "Bryce underwood committing to Michigan is good for LSU"

It is most certainly not

Idk about that, the top 2 quarterback in college football aren’t in the playoffs…

We don’t even know if him decommitting has anything to do with these guys.
Pretty sure BK said something along the lines that the hefty amount committed to him will definitely now help in other areas.

With the amount of money LSU was going to pay him, am I the only one who really isn’t too pissed about it?

Honestly getting really good transfers who can start sooner isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Our 2 best QB’s have been transfers.

People need to move on from the “must get them in high school” mentality. It’s just not the case anymore. They’ll leave if it takes too long to start anyway.

Van Buren impressed me this year. Wondered how State would keep him but never thought we would get him.

At least we can see how he did against SEC competition

I would like us to be at a point where we can get underwood AND all of this other nice stuff, but this is better than getting underwood alone yes

They were going hard in the portal either way.

How was Michigan's recruiting class and portal haul? Just a one trick pony?

He'll be in the portal this time next year. The era of three year elite QBs is over. QB is fully a mercenary position now. Nuss is a rarity.

the two best QB's in the history of LSU were transfers from other schools.

let's keep going to the portal for QB's and stop trying to recruit them from highschool.

Just because he decommmitted doesn't mean he's not a stud. Everyone for a year said how badass he was and the minute he commits to Michigan it was "he's overrated, we don't need him, etc." I wouldn't go that far.

This is actually false…we have JD5 and couldn’t even get in the 4 team playoff…

Lincoln Riley consistently has stud QBs. Means nothing.

Building a true team > one stud qb.

I like what we are doing much more

Seems like A&M have gotten a few 5 star QB's that amounted to nothing.

Ewers 5star #1 ranking QB has been a huge disappointment.

That is not true... see Mac Jones 2020 for further evidence... Stud qb doesn't matter if you don't have weapons on both sides of the ball

In a normal season, Mac Jones gets benched

Show me anywhere that I said he was overrated. I simply said LSU will be fine.

Completely wrong. LSU had one of the best regular seasons in college football history with one of its worst QBs... and then failed to cross the 50 in the natty, but my point is.. a stud QB isn't the end all be all.

And then with Heisman QB we fail to make the playoffs.
