SEC is suing in federal court. Federal jusge supersedes state judge.

There’s a difference between what’s fair and what the reality is.

The SEC’s position is bullshite and there’s a fricking witch hunt for Lane and LSU.

There’s also a very real possibility that if we pursue this we get hammered with sanctions and/or kicked out of the SEC. Which would be a death knell for lsu unless we got into the Big 10 or ACC, who may not want anything to do with us if we’re considered a toxic school that can’t abide by any rules.

Is any of that fair? Maybe not but it’s a reality. If we just continue full speed ahead there’s a good chance this doesn’t end well for us.

They can and will. The SEC not fighting the Chambliss case gives precedent.

The players are legally allowed to play at this moment. No matter what happens in the future, the SEC can’t retroactively punish LSU. What we are doing right now is perfectly legal.

Is that called precedence???

Is that a lawyer term?

Can’t define what a Pro? Is…

But we can sue you…?

Seems like discrimination, from an Alabama grad…

Hopefully they can talk it out like men and common sense prevails on both sides.

I’d rather be kicked out the SEC than be in a corrupt biased conference that enforces its “rules” where it sees fit.

frick the SEC. Sports dead anyways and mega conferences will soon form.

I don’t think Sankey is capable of this

I agree in the sense that LSU really shouldn’t have picked this fight over these guys. But I don’t think the legal analysis is as simple as you think. IMO both sides are making bad decisions here. Real damage is being done for no compelling reasons.

The purpose of the SEC suit is essentially tampering by Kiffin and LSU to set up the suit by the players.

Great and if they deem the LSU players ineligible then all the players who went to mini camp, practiced or tried out for a pro team are ineligible…

Since no one knows what a pro player is?

Some of you having reassurance that nothing will happen to LSU bc the LA AG said so is actually so sad to hear in so many ways.

I'm not saying she's totally full of it but a lot of what these people are saying is politics and not rational thought with LSUs interests at heart.

Sankey isn’t suing for eligibility of the players, thus his penalty that apparently only applies to LSU is completely void. This suit is on paper, saying LSU recruited pro players. It has nothing to do with eligibility of the players. That suit is already settled as of today.

The painfully obvious truth to anyone with a working brain, is that this is a temper tantrum from Sankey against Kiffin and LSU because they don’t obey his highness. I’m not sure if you ever heard Sankey get interviewed, but he has a very high opinion of himself and is a narcissist. The second he was named in the players lawsuit he immediately had this lawsuit ready to go in Bama.

It will be another embarrassing misstep by Sankey and will lead to his dismissal.

LSU won’t be okay if they are kicked out the sec.LSU is barely hanging on financially now. Losing 80 million in tv money will bankrupt the school. If lsu is kicked out, only real option would be tge pac 12, bc all the other p4 conferences banned pro players as well.
