Paraphrasing, "I have playmakers no offense. I need someone who can get the ball to them."
This says to me he wants a passer. Jayden Daniels isn't it.

That's a headline right there. "coaches want passers"

Good point.

That's not to say Daniels himself isn't a playmaker, but you only need a center competent at snapping the ball to get it to him.
Sounds like Kelly has identified that the team has several guys you WANT to get the ball to in space, more important than an admittedly explosive running QB.

Kinda like basketball, if the team is blah, you want an explosive scorer as point guard. But if the team is stacked, you want a bigtime assist guy.

When bk was on the podium he referred to our nil collective.

They should make it easy to donate to that collective. I’m sure there are people who would donate to it . It should be set up like a go fund me almost.

I’ve yet to find someone that knows anything about it. Kelly did confirm it exists though

I think Daniels is not the obvious starter but will see time and the amount of that time will depend on a few things.

If brennan is starting and struggles to get the ball to the playmakers and or we cannot establish the run then I think brennan sits.
Based on what I saw in Brennan’s starts, I would be surprised if he cannot get the ball in the receivers hands tho.

The bigger question for me is whether we can establish the run. Defenses will tee off on brennan if we cannot establish the run to keep them honest.
If the run struggles then I think Daniels sees more playing time because he can run.

Non stop sports talk media has a lot to do with that. After 15 minutes of sports coverage, its on to the gossip.

ESPN is trying to be funny like Barstool. They’re idiots. SVP is the Goat and everyone else sucks. Wish SVP would leave them. Kelly handled the absurd questions well. I’m glad he couldnt see the captions

Based on BK’s style and philosophy I would assume he’s going to bring back old school LSU brand football. Disciplined defense. Conservative offenses. Game control. Basically beat you down 4 quarters. If we don’t take control in the first quarter of games I don’t see us staging crazy come back wins. No shootouts. Our RBs and TEs will thrive.

That was certainly often his MO at Notre Dame. But I'd suggest that was as much a reflection of the level of talent he was able to recruit at the skill positions as any personal preference on his part per se.

If he has 5 star WRs at LSU I'd be surprised if he asked Mike Denbrock to focus primarily on improving their blocking technique in the run game.

The Barstool comparison is insightful. The sports media knows people have instant access to over-saturated results, stats and analysis. Gotta keep finding ways to make it fun an entertaining. Illustration: as much as I like them personally, I find it somewhat odd that ESPN would counter-program against its own broadcast by putting the Manning-Cast on where they largely ignore the game itself and just screw around. Sorta conveys a “you know none of this is actually important or interesting, right?” vibe to me.

It's so damn refreshing seeing and hearing an LSU football coach who represents LSU properly, the way our HC should, by speaking his mind coherently without portraying himself like a joke by making awkward, weird and off the wall comments while also carrying himself in a highly professional, intelligent and respectable manner. It's like we went from having Joe Biden represent our program for close to 2 decades to replacing him with Ronald Reagan. It's fricking awesome and our program will reap the benefits from it via recruiting and from a national perception standpoint in general. Kelly is very well spoken and I think that communication is key when you are in the position he's in as a big time head coach. First impressions and people's perception of you carry tons of weight when you're in the position he is. Obviously he carries himself well and conveys his thoughts and plans for players, recruits and our programs goals/trajectory well, as we can see it translating in recruiting already and with the culture change we've seen take place thus far. I can't wait to see him fully implement his plan for our football program and to see it come to fruition. I truly believe that we have yet to see the golden years of LSU football. I have a really good feeling that Kelly is going to be the coach that we need to get us there and to reach our programs full potential. We have the talent, obviously. All we have needed is a no-nonsense, smart leader to take the reigns and get it running like the well oiled machine it is and should always be. My confidence that Kelly will get it done has a lot to do with miles and orgeron being able to win titles here and knowing that if they did it, then he is fully capable to do it much better and on a larger scale.
