Or if our defense was dead last except that year it wasn’t. 2020 and 2021 were odd years for a lot of elite programs because of Covid or whatever else. 2 years removed those programs are back competing and we have the worse defense in the country.
Y’all say we gave away the ole miss game, that’s bs we lost that game, if that the case then we very well should have lost the Missouri and Arkansas game.

Brian Kelly has a 10 year deal mostly guaranteed. He’s going to be allowed to build the program as he sees fit. All of this complaining is useless.

I’m not happy with the defense. But if you can’t see program progress you probably don’t critically think very well

Are you actually complaining about this? Do you realize how hard it is to do that?
The large part of this fanbase that wasn’t around for the 90s and before is fricking soft and spoiled as hell.

Yep. What’s his record against top 10 teams as LSU coach? FSU was 11 last year to start but it was a big game
So we’re supposed to go from less than .500 over two seasons to beating every top 10 team we play in less than 2 seasons?
It would be one thing if we were getting blown the frick out in all of these games. We beat Ole Miss (top 10 or close when we played them) and Bama last year. We’ve had 3rd quarter leads in all three games this year.
Is it disappointing to not finish any of those games off? frick yeah it is. Will this same record be acceptable two years from now? Absolutely not. But this isn’t a top 10 team in terms of talent, even as good as the offense is. The defense has major holes beyond the coaching problems.
Kelly has to fix all of this, but there’s no magic wand here. Most of us overrated this team before the season, especially the defense. It’s pretty easy to see how short-sighted that was.

What the hell do you think he inherited? It was a fricking dumpster fire.

if he hadn’t lucked out with Jayden Daniels
Oh yeah! He totally lucked out! He didn’t identify a talented guy and bring him in and develop him.
skuter isn’t the only dumbass in this thread. OP you’re a damn special kind of stupid too. In fact, it’s actually impressive just how stupid you are.

They were 7 when we played them.

Last year’s defense was a mirage. We were fortunate to have just enough good vets (BJ, Baskerville, Roy) and hit on pretty much every portal vet we brought in. This year, all of them were gone except for Brooks and he played in one game. None of the portal guys have been as good as JBC, Garner, Foucha or Brooks were and we’ve had a ton of injuries to the guys who can make a difference.
Unfortunately, these players also covered for many House’s deficiencies, like being inflexible and not having a fricking clue how to effectively get talented young players on the field.
You are a fricking idiot who keeps changing and reframing the argument just to keep being a little bitch. Stay on the sidewalk where you belong.

When you’re getting elite coach money more
than 1 OT win is expected. We’re stuck with this guy because Woodward made a bad hire.

10 million a year . Would it be ok if we just decided to pay him 3 million. Of course not.
Not acceptable.
They need to start relooking at how they do contracts. For every game you win you get a million dollars period. ( just an example)For a loss=0 dollars. SECCG Appearance 2 million and a win 5 million. That would light a fire under a coach’s rear.

You’re wrong about this—it’s been confirmed. I’ll admit we need to do better under BK and I’ll be concerned if we regress further next year if you acknowledge you had misinformation.

And who should we have hired? Did you think this last year about this time?

You have twice now been presented with rock solid proof that they were 7-1 and ranked 7th when we beat them in 2022, yet you sit here and continue to state that they were unranked.
How. fricking. STUPID. Are you???

You and I have both presented documented proof that Ole Miss was ranked 7th when we played them but he continues to stick with his statement. It’s beyond ridiculous.
A quick glance at the graphic he posted shows that LSU was ranked 16th in each game listed. Should’ve been pretty easy to realize that those were end of year rankings.
I don’t think we’re dealing with a Rhodes scholar here.
ETA: Okay!! He finally caught on.

Fair enough, but what responsibility does he bear, if any in your mind, for the worst defense in LSU history?

Of the top 25 highest paid coaches in college football, no one gets paid under 6.3 million. Kyle Whittingham of Utah would make more than twice what you would want to pay BK.
