Lacks the physical and mental toughness for the position.

I’ll give him 3 games before I write him off.

That's stupid. Brennan is not afraid to hold the ball as the pocket collapses. he does not see (and feel) the game like Burrow and Brees, but I've seen no evidence to knock his character.

How many times did Jarrett Lee throw for 345 and 3tds? He wouldn’t have that in a 3 game stretch many times.

Thank you.

Everyone chill. He may get benched by week 3 or even 6. But he might not.

Sometimes it doesn’t work out.
Yes he’s been here forever. I don’t like what I saw. But it’s week one after the best season of all time.

Also there is a difference between being scared to get hit and being scared to make a mistake with the ball.

An LSU QB throws for over 300 yards and 3 TD’s and the sky is falling. The program has come a long way

Lee was a slinger that got mind fricked into over correcting into being a game manager

Brennan just looks to have 0 awareness or feel for the game out there. Yeah he doesn’t have many starts under his belt but he looks greener than some true freshmen out there. He’s been in the program for 4 years now, that shouldn’t be the case.

He's Jarrett Lee without the turnovers.

So basically, we can win with him.

Don’t put the Pick 6 Lee curse on Brennan. He’s not there yet

After one start? Get the frick out.

He looked like a QB in his first start. The D gave up 600 yards passing, but let's blame the first time starter who went for 300 and 3 TD passes.

Everyone bashing Brennan is fricking stupid. 345 yards through the air. An LSU record for a QB in his debut. Yeah he wasn't Burrow but he DAMN sure wasn't Lee or Harris either. You people are delusional.

His first game was better than any game Jarrett Lee had. On top of that, Jarrett had an extremely talented and experienced backfield and O-line. He reminds me of Met.

Not a word. Your opinion is dismissed.

Even though you're not completely off base...

Agreed. Yes, he had a ton of pick 6's 2008, but he also threw for a lot of yards (relative to what Miles would transform the offense into following that season)

Unlike Lee who would just panic, duck away and wildly throw the ball up for grabs when the rush was remotely close, Brennan will stand tall against it to some extent. I don't think he had "zero" pocket awareness (though it isn't even in the same stratosphere of Burrow's). IMO, his biggest issue is that he lacks confidence and is completely unsure of himself out there. Even his good throws were hesitant.

You would hope a 4th year guy would not have such issues to such a large degree, but it is what it is, and LSU has to adapt. He's not a plug and play from last season. Find him some easy throws. Help out with the running game. The next two opponents are probably the weakest (or in the bottom 1/4) of the SEC. So let's see if he can work through the confidence issues. After that, the opponents won't get any easier. If he is still hesitant and unsure by the end of the UF game, then it might be time to start thinking about getting one of the freshman a few snaps.

It was one start. There was a time when Tiger fans would have been very happy with his stats for the day. Does he need to improve? Yes. Definitely. But it was one start. Sometimes a guy just needs a few games.

It didn’t help that he was playing against a more experienced team and that he suffered by comparison against his opposite number for MS State, who is an experienced, pretty polished and finished quarterback.
