Bregs 2/10 career v Gaus with one homer.

Gausman just smiled at him with the count 2-2.

Love LSU in the MLB. Can't wait to see Crews v Skenes one day.

This Kevin I'm watching is unhittable. Splitter than sinks about a foot.
Wish he would teach some of our pitchers how to throw that splitter. K'd Bergman 3 times tonight..that doesn't happen often.

Yea when Guasman is like that he is damn near unbeatable.....problem is that level of dominance hasn't been the rule for him for the most part in the show.

Sucks to run into that buzz saw tonight but it happens.

Yes, I was going to point out the same thing. He finished in the Top 10 in the Cy Young balloting the last two years and led the league in K/BB last year. He was 6th in the NL in ERA+, 5th in FIP and 8th in WAR for pitchers in 2021. He had a little bad luck in ERA in 2022 but he was 1st in FIP. He’s 1st in the AL again this year in FIP and has an outstanding ERA+ above 150. He’s been in the Top 5 in his league in K/9 the last 3 years.

So he gave up a bomb on the second pitch of the game. It was goodnight Astros after that.

That is honestly the hardest pitch to hit in baseball when pitched correctly. But that puts a lot more stress on the arm/elbow than any other pitch. Barry Bonds even talked about how the splitter was the one pitch when pitched correctly you just can't get a read on to get a hit because of how it just dies.

Wasn't Gausman gone before Bregs arrived? Seems like Bregs was the year after Gausman left.

Now we have seen Nola/Bregs a few times and Nola has beat him every time, I believe.

Gausman was almost unhittable last night.
