Agreed. It all seemed to start with Sir Mix-A-Lot and "I Like Big Butts". When that song came on, every fat chick in the club would scream "that's my sawnnnnng!" and stampede to the dance floor.
As Americans have become heavier, I think some aspect of it is a projection of settling as it becomes more difficult to find women in decent shape.
